Rael, there are few tried and tested UW techniques of meeting the public. You may wish to hang about car parks, obviously in the winter don't wear a balaclava, you may be mistaken for a criminal. Anyway, when a person parks particularly well, you jump out and congratulate them thrusting a UW leaflet in their hand.
Then there is the upside badge technique. Where you walk around looking particularly gormless (can you do gormless;)) with a UW badge upside down. When an unsuspecting member of the public unwittingly mentions the badge, you thrust leaflet in their hand.
Obviously hitting/threatening potential customers is not recommended. So keep the red mist down if they don't appreciate your advances. Good luck mate.0 -
Considering Cardew seems determined to post his anti-UW and one-sided diatribe every couple of pages, maybe it's time I re-posted my UW deal, especially now we have had 2 months to ascertain whether the expected level of cashback I originally suggested was/is realistic.Gas 15000
Electric 4800
Phone Line Rental
Up to 24 mb broadband
Unlimited monthly download allowance
Inclusive 24/7 calls to 01, 02, 03, 0845/0870 and 10 popular Intl destinations.
Free calls to UWs CS/tech support line/cashback card top-up line etc etc.
12 paper bills per year.
Option to provide monthly meter readings and pay for exact usage.
Membership discount directory.
Pre-paid cashback card that grants 5% discount off the UW commensurate with spending at designated stores.
Option to refer like-minded individuals and eran a further discount off the bill (we have 2 referral so far so 4% further discount)
NO min. term contracts on ANY of the services I take (subject to £50 release fee on phone/BB should we leave within 12 months).
One monthly bill with ALL the services I take included on it.
Guaranteed UK-based call centre who answer very quickly (we've never waited more than a few seconds to speak to actual human being. astonishing.)
One DD.
I'm sure I've left summat out but hey ho.
Now, the charges. Total annual charge for all the above is £1447.
So far, my monthly discount from use of the cashback card has averaged £36 per month (£432 per year gross). Considering this will rise expeonentially around December time, I think my original projection of £450 per year discount will prove conservative. I'm upping my projection to £500. Deduct the £17 annual expense of 'running' the card and we are looking at £483 net.
£1447 - £483 = £964 - £80.33/mth if you choose to pay by budget plan.
Please don't forget this figure is for gas, electric, phone line, unlimited broadband and ALL calls!
We don't envisage any surprises in the form of call charges as just about all eventualities are included (we had NO extra charges this month for calls!)
Of course, someone with exactly the same usage/spending habits as me in the same region etc etc joining now would actually pay £864 over the next 12 months.
Please don't forget this figure is for gas, electric, phone line, unlimited broadband and ALL calls!
Of course, UW is not for everyone but in the right circumstances it's an actual no-brainer.
But have a go at beating it if you can.Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -

Wrong. You twist what was actually said.
Someone said they fancied being a rep, but just wanted to earn enough to get their uw bills paid.
They were told by a rep to aim for 50 customers initially.
I pointed out that as the average was 9, 50 seemed a high number for a first goal.
Now we learn that 9 customers is all you need to succeed, which does indicate that this business isn't about selling expensive utilities at all, but getting gullibles to join your team as reps!
ie The emphasis of the uw is on recruiting, not selling the expensive gas and electricity that keggs doesn't like having to do, and wants stopped!0 -
I've already got 2 people joining UW and I'm not a rep. There will be many more, I'm sure. Can't see 50 being much of a problem for an actual rep who goes for it. I would ideally like enough referrals to make my bills NIL. With the cashback card discount that will not need to be anything like 50, of course.Call me Carmine....

Welcome back!
You address my post about your misunderstanding of our compensation plan (ie. admit you posted misleading information, or at the very least admit that you misunderstood what you read/heard) and I will happily address this post...or are we picking and choosing again?Utility Warehouse Distributor/Professional Network Marketer0 -
In fact, I'm a big boy, I'll answer it anyway.
50 is a significant figure because you need never gather a customer again once you have 50 personally. You will be paid 100% of your commission every month and you don't have to do any work. Until then, there is a minimum requirement to gather one per month to maintain your 100% commission - not much really for a p/t role and well within the ability of most people - in fact 1 customer per week for the first year will give you enough to put yourself in this position.
I imagine that is why NigeWick recommended 50.Utility Warehouse Distributor/Professional Network Marketer0 -

I think there has been a bit of a misunderstanding both ways. The person that answered you Quentin may have been thinking you meant the Customer Discount Plan. When customers refer a friend to the company they receive up to 2% maximum discount per customer. If they did receive 2% on every customer they refer then you only need 50 customers to end up paying no bills. It may slightly more than 50 if you take VAT into consideration.
Hope that helps.
ps
I do not intend being drawn into responding to your ridiculous comments made about me. You can say what you like I know what I said and I know what I mean. And it isn't what you think. You can misinterpret as much as you like but that's par for the course.0 -
I really wanted to know how long it would take to get my utility bills for free, and I think 50 was a figure that more or less made sure that I would, without them knowing exactly how much i'd need. In fact, i'm already a good way there with my cashback. However, 9 customers each isn't really many, and those who fancy giving it a go themselves withe me should easily be able to manage that. As has been said, the business isn't really about gathering masses of customers, just enough to show your team that a) it's possible for anyone and b) it's easy to copy.
Did you not know that MLM was a team building business Quentin?
PS. I already have 2 gullible friends who want to join up as well. How good is that? I'm not even a distributor yet!
Excellent news Rael. I've signed up a new ID today. In fact he could be a good one but I never build my hopes. He's involved in the local Rotary Club so not only could he help his club members save money the Rotary club itself could become a CFR and raise much needed income for the charity work I know these organisations do.
Best of Luck Rael. With that start you'll go a long way. See on the stage at Express Day next year.
