Fortunately no.
However I can understand that you must be a huge disappointment to your real father, which is why he has disappeared.
Please don't give up - I am sure you will find him.
Thank god for that, I couldn't live with the embarassment or public ridicule! Plus, I would certainly berate my mother for her appalling taste in bigoted men.
Incidentally, my father has recently died so the chances of me finding him soon are pretty remote. I still think of him in the present tense so maybe my post threw you a little with its wording. I apologise for my bad grammar and sentence structure.
But, you share some personality traits with one exception. My father had not had a sense of humour and empathy quadruple bypass.
I do note a particularly viscious undertone to your reply, which is, to my mind, indicative of an individual lacking in some sort of common empathy with their fellow human beings and their right for freedom of choice/thought.
My father was most definitely not disappointed by me - quite the reverse in fact. In spite of our frequent heated debates, he was proud of the fact that I had my own voice and would have it heard. He admired me for speaking out for what I believed, although he may not have necessarily agreed with it.
I hope you're ashamed of yourself in your obnoxious crusade and your attack on individuals whose only crime is not to share your opnion.'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'

I think if Cardew was a real man he would see that the right thing to do when hurting a ladies feelings is to apologise even if it wasn't intentional but only that he sometimes puts his foot in his mouth. Maz may not forgive him for it however it is the right thing to do. As John Wayne would say, 'when a man's got to do what a man's got to do'.Quentin's Cashback Card?
Let no man, advert or internet site tell me where to get my Utilities0 -
It's a shame people here have become so nasty when after all it's only money we are discussing. In the grand scheme of things it isn't important.

Totally agree, although personal insults seems to be 'stock n' trade' for one or two reps. It would seem a tactic to avoid discusing UW high prices. Next time vinny or yourself stating insulting MSE members I will just quote you, thanks.0 -

Personally, I'll actually be very glad if that turns out to be the case. I've never agreed with the inclusion of npower's annual discount on the switching sites as most people (including Quentin!) don't even realise they have to stay for 12 months and that's just not right. Mind you, at least it's mentioned, unlike Eon's disgraceful loss of discount on final bill to ALL it's punters, no matter how long they have been loyal. NO b*gger knows about that one! I'd love to know the most an unsuspecting punter has been stung for with that one...
Why should the switching sites show a discount that is a one off discount which existing customers on the same tariff wont get? Plus as you correctly point out, you need to take 3 services to qualify for the one off payment. How many more hoops will you have to jump through to receive this discount? Have a tortoise called Alan?
Oh carmine you must be ever so slightly embarrassed? You have spent enormous amounts of your time railing against 'unfair' clauses in energy supplier tariffs, you point out endlessly that UW don't engage in such practices and they institute a far more dubious penalty discount that Eon et al could ever imagine. One that snubs existing customers! What a huge slap in the face for those poor folk. You cant even change tariffs to receive this dubious discount, what a poor show. I feel sorry for you mate.0 -
Looking at his figures, this has now become a bit of a no-brainer for my father. Very low users will actually (proportionately) benefit more than others, of course. Plus he's been put on BT Basic even though he shouldn't qualify. A poisoned chalice for someone who uses his phone as much as my dad (not excessively but at the mobile-like rates BT charge on this tariff the bill soon shoots up. Deceitful BT). Hmmm...Call me Carmine....

Make sure to tell your dad about the one off discount, that is a one hit wonder, existing customers need not apply. Wouldn't like him to get a shock the year after....0 -
Did I not use the widely (although flawed) actual average UK energy usage figures?

The average user figures are set by Ofgem, although as I've already said they are deeply flawed. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.
