Maybe the reps and carmine should ask Big Al how to make a better impression on this thread. Could he really make us believe?;)

When asked what's the buzz from the reps rally in Southport, keggs toed the company whip:

We were asked not to say anything because of tomorrow.

As the second reps rally will now be under way, there is presumably no reason why the big news cannot be revealed?? In any case I am not bound by the UW embargo, so will risk their wrath and spill the beans.

Previously you had to reach criteria as a rep to be eligible to get a UW mini.

Now all reps AND club members will be eligible to get one.

  • Woooaaahhh...wait a mo. Is that Quentin posting something (intentionally) amusing? Drags self up from floor. Although in this case he's clearly not 'cut out' for this 'self of humour' malarky.

Any figures I give are totally irrelevant.
Balderdash. The only way to reliably find one's best deal is to use our actual gas and electricity figures. We are all individuals and have different requirements. Therefore if we do not check costs with accurate numbers, we will not be able to identify the best value for us as individuals.

So energyhelpline are giving out inaccurate information?

Who know. I don't. never use comparison sites. Don't trust them. I tried a couple once and got conflicting information using exactly the same information. What other people do is their business. I don't advise either way. It comes back and bites you in then end. If you think they are useful to you. Great.

Yes. Unless you provide your actual gas and electricity usage, and, they take into account all possible scenarios and T&C's etc. Otherwise, they are likely to just give an approximation showing the companies they benefit from most.

There's that 'irrelevant' word again. Forever trotted out by members of the AUWF when faced with questions regarding their own money saving 'attempts'. There seems to be a trend emerging with their 'advice'; 'what I do is irrelevant but what I say you should do is entirely relevant'. Not even the lyricists for Girls Aloud could make that one up.

UW reps are trained to diss the switching sites.

Maybe it's a way of overcoming the objection "But it seems according to the comparison sites I'd save lots by not joining your club?"

As demonstrated by the ex-cop signing up the gullible spanish teachers in this training video:

This is the first time I have looked at the UW thread, and I'm confused!

The business bit, being a discount club etc etc... I get!

But I have just looked at the generic UW internet site and attempted to get Gas & Electric prices and all it says is I will save x%! Well thats all well and good, but it didn't even ask me who my suppliers were, and I could not get a unit price for the East Midlands area nor IGTs seems odd?

Or do I have to sign up first and then find out the price?

I will reserve judgement if someone can tell me what the 'real' prices are, I'm quite willing to dig mine out and post them here to prove my point or be proved wrong!
These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!

I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!

Over on the uw reps website they are grumbling because even when people sign up they discover that irrespective of their previous useage, their monthly dds are set far too high.

So even if they "reveal" their true prices to you, (which will be expensive compared to others) beware the dd problem.

Don't know how they know you will save x% - their energy prices are known to be some of the most expensive available, plus you have to also pay a monthly membership fee on top, and there is no discount for taking dual fuel, paying by DD, having on-line billing or operating your account online,
