Electrifying sense of humour there cardew. Sparky.Quentin's Cashback Card?
Let no man, advert or internet site tell me where to get my Utilities0 -
Cardew, well worked out. What took you so long? :rotfl: Crikey, you use a HUGE amount of gas compared to leccy on that little-used annex, don't you? Do you have gas lights?
PS I'm sure after all that feverish key tapping on your calculator you are very disappointed to realise that UW would charge 'only' £174 for that usage. And you have been paying that £89 for 4 years on penance of swingeing exit fees. It does look slightly different to your previous dishonest, pathetic comparison with UWs leccy prices, doesn't it? Well done. :money:
PS Why would you have to check your bills when you must have already inputted the gas figure when you came up with this (dis)ingenious plan to try and fabricate the difference between UWs stand-alone (including club fee) and your dual-fuel reduced BG leccy price? It's late, best not to answer now and further incriminate yourself, I'll wait until the morning.
PPS And how come you apparently get a 60% reduction in your leccy charges for electing for paperless billing but get no discount at all on your gas usage for, presumably, electing for paperless billing? Something doesn't smell right. But, then again, it's a Cardew Claim (TM), that shouldn't come as a huge surprise...Call me Carmine....

Any new readers should be aware of one fact, which is totally indisputable, which is why the reps and 'independent' UW shareholder carmine avoid discussing at all costs. Namely, that UW offer some of the most expensive energy tariffs in the entire UK. They are so expensive that many very expensive 'feel better' green tariffs are better value. UW would cost me personally 19% extra (£257) this year alone, this fact is established by using MSE recommended energyhelpline.
You don't have to take my word for it. If any new readers enters their own gas and electric kWh into energyhelpline, they can see for themselves what we all know (including the reps and 'independent' shareholder carmine) that UW are very expensive and to claim otherwise on a money saving site is frankly ridiculous in the extreme.
Of course if monthly billing is essential, and you are prepared to pay a massive premium (19% extra in my case) then UW is undoubtedly for you.0 -
You really cannot believe that people would pay £200 to become a salesman,(for just about the most expensive gas and electricity in UK) and then travel, presumably without travel expenses, and pay for their ticket(£30?) for a sales seminar.
You really have to admire Charles!
Morning!
No you don't 'pay' to become a salesman. You invest £200 in a Starter Pack, training, support, hosted website etc to start a business that can and does, with a little bit of effort and persistance, create a significant residual income...which allows me in my mid-thirties not to have to work anymore. Not bad for £200 and a bit of 'sweat equity' eh...?Utility Warehouse Distributor/Professional Network Marketer0 -
Talking of calculator key-tapping, I've just worked out my bill for gas, electric, unlimited broadband, phone line rental, all calls (incl several to Oz and France, 0845/0870 etc) will come in at circa £44 this month. Granted, the gas only came on stream half way through the month and we aren't exactly hitting that meter with our gas usage at the moment but it's quite an extraordinary figure when you consider the nearest equivalent BT phone/broadband/calls package would come in at around the same amount, £44 for the month. Then, of course, there would be the charge/s for your gas and electric use on top of this figure. It just shows the power of the cashback card in harnessing your retail shopping power in order to derive extra benefit from what is for most households one of their most significant monthly outlays (remember the 5% is also granted on petrol/diesel at Sainsburys, who now also have a 5p per litre off promotion if you spend £50+ in-store/online. A double whammy!) I now actually cringe when I see people paying for trolley loads of shopping with their common or garden debit card. Chucking money away they are. Cashback card discount accumulated for month of August = £36.Call me Carmine....

£200 x 30,000 reps = nice little earner.0

I have a few friends that both use UW as a customer and also work as distributors. I've also been thinking about becoming a distributor myself. Interesting debate on here. It's not just about the gas and electricity prices though is it? They seem to offer other services at reduced rates too and a bonus for getting all the utilities from one company.0

Still ignoring me?;)
Anyway, for most normal people who just have to have the UW discount card, its not a cashback card. It would be far far better if you took only UW phone and broadband, then if your discount card spend is large enough you could actually receive these services for free. In fact you could make a profit if your card spend was sufficiently large enough, as UW credit any surplus back to you.
Then with the possibility of free broadband and phone (even a profit) you could then get a far cheaper online energy tariff. This for any serious money saver would be the most logical course of action. Of course if you are addicted to 0870/0845 number then UW is again undoubtedly for you.0 -
It cannot be stated too often - UW gas and electricity prices are just about the highest in UK.

I'll ask again. How do you explain that I pay less for my gas and electricity than I would with any other companies?

And me. It's all about thinking outside the box, isn't it? Some of the detractors on here wouldn't know their way out of the box let alone thinking outside it. For instance, although he's never admitted it, I think it entirely probable that Cardew hasn't, in the last 20 years, used any other company for his gas and electric than British Gas. Similarly, it's also clear he's never used any other telephony company except BT. It's like de-regulation passed his driveway by. Similarly, he's admitted he will NEVER use any form of cashback card and believes BT provides him with best value phone/broadband That sort of 'experience' isn't necessarily what people looking for genuine money saving advice would be happy to read, TBH.
