There goes that faith thing again, must be why I don't get the whole join the club thing.
if God existed he must have had a bank holiday coming up, hence the haste in creating the earth in only 7 days and all those mistakes along the way..
How can you prove that god does not exist? Think about that one because it is a much deeper question than it first appears.
I have a strong scientific background and have deeply studied the matter. If you can bring light to that I would be interested, seriously. Science is the search for truth. To dictate an absolute that god does not exist is against scientific method. Its as unscientific as the inspired creation theory the deep south are keen on. Its as unscientific as stating a theory and expecting everyone else to agree without proof. I just wish people's faith in what is right was as strong as their faith in our constantly changing understanding of truth.
Also I am not anti anything either. I am just pro peace.Quentin's Cashback Card?

I can prove he doesn't just in the same way you can't prove he does.
If I was placing a bet on it, I would bet he didn't. The odds are in favour of no such thing. more chance of aliens performing some kind of terraforming experiment given all the mistakes. No, I don't believe in that either. We are just one of many coincidences of cosmic chemistry.0 -

Its interesting that you didn't answer the question directly. I have asked many people the same question and always people choose to change the question. I am not being critical either when I say that, only open to debate. Its really a question that cannot be answered. As much as we know we don't know enough yet to directly answer it. In your next sentence you also directly state your own theory or belief system. You have your own ideas and so must have given them some thought. Where does that concept of cosmic chemistry come from and why did you want to reason it in the first place. An interesting thought. Under what grounds can you state that is the correct interpretation of creation. How can you prove that? Why do you feel it imperative that others should realise the concept of cosmic chemistry. Have you managed to prove it.
Scientific reasoning is currently inadequate to prove that god does not exist. Exactly how we came about has not been proven. Science has not advanced enough yet. The only pragmatic fact we can state is that we really don't know the truth yet. In fact the very essence and nature of truth is an open subject as yet, let alone absolute truth. Belief is another subject entirely and all are guilty of subjecting others to that. It a debate that will never stop.
What I find strange is that people in the UK nowadays have a belief in a secular modern system that seems to alienate people who believe the sanctity of the church. Its a simple moral code to uphold faith in god first and the family second. However they choose instead faith in a secular system that has resulted within two generations in the breakdown of the family unit with the highest level of teenage pregnancy in Europe, high levels of divorce and many other social problems. Yet the common idea is that religious people are nutters with blind faith. Or is it that they themselves have just become blind to what faith is and means. There are many countries that have better family structure than in the UK. There are also 2 billion people with Christians faith as well. The ideas and faith in a secular system and the common man's interpretation of evolution meaning direct proof of the non-existence of god is a minority view from a few isolated anglo centric types that have faith in an evolving secular doctrine that they don't know of what direction it will take. Cannot people see the negative effect on our society this has.
Now if I go on I will be accused of bringing up the subject of religion. Remember I didn't start the debate, but questions were brought forward by others, I have only debated the subject in a fuller context. Others have brought forward their own belief system. Its only because I have an interest in it that I have put forward some ideas. Its up to them if they want to be blind to that. I have been told my open mind is a virtue.
Still I recommend people try sainsburys basic curry sauce at least once.Quentin's Cashback Card?

Obsessive that I am
I have looked into the ingredients of the Sainsbugs basics curry sauce at the princely sum of 4p and concluded that it's massively subsidised by Sainsbugs. Fact is it's also very low in fat compared to the established brand names. Supermarkets in particular (and retailers in general) love the fact that KNs view is still entrenched in our psyche when it comes to buying 'stuff' (not just food). It's cheap it must be nasty etc. In the case of food, it's cheap it must be bad for you. 'Bad' food is bad for you and 'bad' food exists in every price range. OK, before someone finds it and embarrasses me, here's my investigative post on the curry sauce
It was made in response to a poster making much the same claim as KN has (although she mentioned it in relation to her favourite brand name curry sauce). BTW, it wasn't much of a bargain at the time as it was 7p, lol!
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=22483307&postcount=12LOL, it's clearly heavily subsidised by Sainsburys! And if you are worried about fat in your food you should perhaps have a think about the content of the Sharwoods.

Talking of ingredients it would be interesting to see how much water is in tesco value curry sauce because if you shake the tin you can hear the bubbles frothing around inside. I thought a sauce was supposed to be of a thick creamy texture not like a tin of water with a few spices added.Quentin's Cashback Card?

Yes it does. I tend to find they are more selective in what they sell at sainsburys. Waitrose is very good as well. I find the quality at sainsburys only slightly less than waitrose but the value much better.Quentin's Cashback Card?

I've heard horror stories regarding the Tesco value curry sauce. Think we'll stick to the Sainsburys one. Like KN, we normally make our own from scratch (we used to have Grossman's Balti sauce until we actually discovered the fat content!!) but we use the Sainsbug one ocassionally as it's so comparitively low fat. Reminds me of chip shop curry, TBH. Brings back memories of my childhood, lol.
