Perhaps this will convince you that you are wrong?

Looks to me like they've massively increased the Tier 1 prices and only marginally increased the Tier 2 prices? I know for an absolute fact that Click 5's tier 2 price at launch was 2.54 but can't remember the tier 1 price. More BG dodginess?Call me Carmine....

Here we go again! It doesn't matter about BG's pricing structure is, you just cannot bring yourself to admit that this statement that you have repeated time and again is totally wrong can you? It's a topic I raised ealier but Cardew chose to ignore it. I'll say it again. Cardew took out a 5 year fixed deal with BG in 2005. At the time the tariff was considerably more expensive than even BGs standard tariff (and certainly way more than the Click online tariff BG craftily launched the year after Cardew took out his fixed deal).
Or do you still stand by that quote?0 -

No idea how to get your total posts on the thread but you were certainly posting on here over a year before that. Startling for someone who started what appeared to be your opening post on here in Sep 2007 with these immortal words:

Fella, if you can apologise for fabricating the 'fact' that you saw French & Saunders on your TV advertising UW 'most nights' (and you did sort of issue a rather embarrassed apology) then I have no problem apologising for getting this (sort of) wrong. I apologise. Unreservedly. Totally. Without question. Absolutely.
In mitigation, since your ridiculous French & Saunders 'fact' I have tended to err on the side of caution with your utterances on here (assumed they were dodgy until proven otherwise).
My point remains - you by your own admission have said you taking out a 5 year fix was a gamble. A gamble you were willing to take in return for the potential rewards. In comparison I haven't gambled anything by becoming a UW customer and receiving the very best deal out there. That's why I can't understand why you can't accept the fact I'm getting the best deal I can. Let's face it, if everybody took a moral stance and decided not to give their business to any energy supplier who has ever employed supposedly 'dodgy' sale tactics we would all be permanently without heat and light.Call me Carmine....

Can't say I've ever heard of Ebico or GoodEnergy getting tarnished by this though ?0 -
That post has nothing to do with comparison site figures.
It simply demonstrates that the small print of UW's infamous Triple Value guarantee renders it absolutely worthless.
Anyone who wants to confirm that UW's prices are amongst the highest in UK only need to use any of the comparison websites.
Your tactic of rubbishing the comparison website's results simply won't wash.- Again you base your assumption on price comparison site prices for UW.
- You ignore the discounts the that UW customers get by taking the other services like phone, broadband mobile etc. The multi service discount.
- You choose to ignor the cashback card savings that many UW customers choose to have.
- You ignore the increases that a few months later will occur when someone takes for instance BG websaver 3 and it gets replaced with BG websaver 4 unless it has already happened. The annual saving quoted on the price comparison site becomes meaningless.
- You ignore carmines fact that he gets the cheapest with UW.
- You probably won't read this far through the message and will instead start to ignore it so I may as well start writing anything but just make it look important by making a bullet point.
- I noticed Quentin seems quite quiet and subdued lately. Is he ok.
- I better not make any more bullet points else I'll end up writing a story or a poem but at least Maz appreciates them. I am off to bed instead.
- Just to prove I can make numbered point as well here you are.

The Anti UW Faction rules.
- Don't ever agree that UW may be excellent value for even a single person in UK.
- Fabricate as much Anti UW bias as possible. (This is the Anti UW Faction afterall)
- Use bullet points or preferably number points at every possible instance.
- Discredit UW and also discredit UW Distributors without proof.
- Get as many posts on as possible.
- Write 'fact' to emphasise a truth even though it may have an underlying distortion.
- Ignore any proof that a distortion of truth may be unjustified.
- Discredit UW dstributors as spammers even though they haven't.
- Ignore customer service value.
- Make out UW are really expensive at every possible moment.
- Ignore any good press that UW may get.
- Especially ignore the Which Magazine.
- Ignore any customers who say UW is good, they
- It doesn't matter if you have never actually tried UW, by being a member of the Anti UW faction you automatically know more about it than a UW customer.
- Remember bigotry isn't bias. We are right and they are wrong. Even when they try to prove they are.
- We do not accept poems, rhymes, stories or any other forms of non factual falsification. This is a factual faction and we want to keep it that way. O.K.
- Facts are facts and creative characterisation is not permissible.
- Facts rule in the Anti UW Faction and thats a fact.
- A joke is not a fact. This is a Faction not a joke shop. Keep it factual.

Would either of these saintly organisations inform me, if I was to apply to join them on my usage, that there were far far cheaper alternatives? Even on the 'bald' comparison site figures Ebico is considerably more expensive for me than UW. I think they should offer a cashback card, personally.
Ps My point was specifically directed at Cardew's stance on UW where he states he dislikes the company on account of their selling techniques (he's with British Gas for fuel and BT for phone/BB. I hope you pick up on the irony).Call me Carmine....

For the second time in recent days I find myself agreeing with you.
The actions of some(most?) sales staff in call centres, comparison sites, and doorstop knockers is a disgrace.
You and I, with justification, deplore the 'confusion marketing' employed by the Big 6. Your valid criticism of the 10 internet tariffs BG have introduced in a period of less than 3 years is a classic case. It takes a lot of research even for 'experts to work out what combination of those tariffs is best if they have one of the superceeded tariffs. The one thing in BG's favour is that each version of their internet tariff has been the cheapest on the market or very close to being the cheapest.
However those tactics pale into insignificance when compared to the Modus Operandi employed by many of the 30,000 ‘independent’ UW distributors.
Even you will (grudgingly?) concede that UW charge amongst the very highest gas and electricity prices in UK – notwithstanding that your use of the cashcard can make it a good deal for yourself. Every Comparison website confirms that fact.
Many posts both in this thread and the spamming that occurs all the time on MSE(a guy posted eight such posts yesterday) are simply a lie. “We guarantee to provide the cheapest gas and electricity available” is a recurring theme.
The disgraceful TVG is specifically worded to fool the unsuspecting & naive.
Without the input of the ‘anti UW faction' to this thread, the UW distributors would have carte blanche to spread their disinformation and recruit those unsuspecting & naive.
Perhaps you would like to nominate Quentin as ‘Poster of the Year’?;)0
