All your customers were unlucky you got to them.
If only they had used the MSE way to switch from their obviously expensive tariffs to the cheapest option, just think how much they would be saving now!0 -

Over the past year you have kept repeating this nonsense time and again. It seems to be a regular tactic of yours to discredit people rather than address issues.
So let me give you some facts - and I have all the relevant paperwork to hand:
1. I joined BG's fixed to April 30th 2010 tariff on 29 Nov 2005.
2. That tariff used BG's standard tariff as the basis for their charging and increased their gas price by 2.8% over the standard tariff and reduced their standard electricity prices by 4.8%
The BG letter states that for the average 20,500/3300kWH customer the overall costs would be the same. On my consumption I actually paid a little less on my new tariff.
So you are completely incorrect when you say that "at the time the tariff was considerably more expensive than even BGs standard tariff"
3. On the 2010 tariff I was(and am) paying 11.907p/7.157p tier1/tier2 for electricity and 3.032p/2.113p tier1/tier 2 for gas - prices include VAT and exclude dual fuel discount.
4. On 01 March 2006 BG increased their standard tariff to 15.259p/9.172p elect and 3.441p/2.553p gas.
5. On 04 Sep 2006 BG introduced their Click 1 online tariff and again increased their standard tariff.
Their Standard Tariff on that date for my area was 17.452p/10.457p electricity and 5.207p/2.941p gas and the tier 1 levels were the same as previously
The Click Tariff on that date was 10.697p/8.53p elect and 3.325p/2.553p gas - tier levels same as previously. The dual Fuel discount remained the same as the 2010 tariff.
So yet again you are completely wrong in stating "'the 2010 tariff' was certainly way more than the Click online tariff BG craftily launched the year after Cardew took out his fixed deal"
If fact as I stated when you first challenged the wisdom of people who had elected for the 2010 tariff, I have paid less than any other BG tariff from 29 Nov 2005 until today and with every expectation that I will continue to pay less than any available tariff.
Now will you admit that you are totally wrong in your assertions about this particular issue?
You have even claimed that I have been embarrassed by your revelations that the 2010 tariff was a crafty ploy by BG. The hope is that you might just be embarrassed by getting it totally wrong - albeit it is a faint hope!.0 -
The last time i went on a price comparision web-site (about 3 weeks ago) UW were in the top 10 for me, so obviously everybody gets different results. So the statement above is obviously personal to you, not everybody is going to get the same results as you, so UW won't always be in 50+ position as stated.
!
Just to repeat my challenge to you.
show us how the comparison websites put UW in the top 10 for yourself.(you previously said 5th)
You must have your consumption in kWh or annual costs for gas(£480?) and electricity to have used the comparison websites.0 -
Again you base your assumptions on the price comparison site figures for UW gas and electricity prices.
That post has nothing to do with comparison site figures.
It simply demonstrates that the small print of UW's infamous Triple Value guarantee renders it absolutely worthless.
Anyone who wants to confirm that UW's prices are amongst the highest in UK only need to use any of the comparison websites.
Your tactic of rubbishing the comparison website's results simply won't wash.0 -
Even the uw services director admits the worthless guarantee is just a "sales aid designed to help sign up customers"
http://www.networkerplus.co.uk/videos/triple-value-guarantee-wayne-coupland.html
Given that its just a sales aid, and no way a true "guarantee" that you can claim against, uw reps repeatedly reproducing it here in full is just spam!If you get this right, our energy services sell themselves0 -

Woahhh..figure overload. So, if these figures are to be believed, there was absolutely no gamble whatsoever?
PS Got a link to the opening prices for Click 1, please? Tier 2 is 'only' 3.151p now, 3 years laterIIRC Click 5 was the rate you claim Click 1 was (2.553) when that was launched 2 years later. Are you getting confused?
Ps Would it frighten you, Cardew, if I told you that you had posted on here 300 times since 7/10/08? No idea how to get your total posts on the thread but you were certainly posting on here over a year before that. Startling for someone who started what appeared to be your opening post on here in Sep 2007 with these immortal words:Not wanting to get involved in the great T+ debate;

No I am not getting confused.
As I said above I have the booklet in front of me.
It states "The following tables show the latest energy rates for British Gas customers effective from 4th September 2006"
It then gives the Standard gas and electricity prices and the Click Energy prices(note Click not Click1) These prices are exactly as I show in my post above.
As for your statement "So, if these figures are to be believed, there was absolutely no gamble whatsoever?"
Should you care to go back to the controversy that 'raged' in the thread in 2005 there was plenty of risk factors in the gamble.
There were plenty of people who argued that all gas and electricity prices would fall dramatically in the years to come. That BG must have 'known something' or they wouldn't have offered a four and a half year fixed deal at no premium.
Then of course it was quite correct that BG's standard tariff(hence the 2010 tariff) was more expensive than some tariffs available with other companies. Rather than go on the 2010 BG tariff some savings could be made by choosing a tariff with one of these companies and hope that the gains made in the early period would be more than the losses in the latter period.
So yes it was still a gamble that many people were not prepared to take.
Any chance of you admitting you were and are wrong?0 -
Re above, I have scanned the relevant page of the BG booklet for 4 Sep 2006 but I cannot upload it into a message. Anyone know how?Edit - Now done see below)
Also I tried looking at Energyhelpline comparison site. That lets you choose BG Click(and all the other variations) as your current tariff and gives details of that tariff.
However it is obviously incorrect as it gives a price about 50% higher for gas than those I gave above - presumably it is one of the later versions e.g Click 1 to Click 7.
Energylinx also give the incorrect figures for Click1(as they term it) way higher than it actually was.0 -

Tier 2 price for gas on Click 5 (introduced 2 years after Click 1. I say click 1 so as to clarify it. Maybe BG decided on their wholly dodgy constant superceding of their online tariffs after Click was launched, who knows?) was 2.54p. I'm amazed if through Clicks 2, 3, and 4 and over a period of 2 years the price of tier 2 gas didn't increase. In your Midlands region Click 1 (for this is actually what BG now call it, lol) the tier 2 price is still 'only' 3.2p. Based on your figures posted earlier that would suggest that the price has risen just 27% in 3 years.Call me Carmine....
