Yes, there's no greater judge of a real human being than self-deprecating humour, I feel. I was going to suggest you try it some time but if you were entirely honest about yourself I think you'd probably require your own dedicated thread.
I can't be that thick - at least I don't have to 'rob Peter to pay Paul' every month unlike a certain poster (mentioning no name, obviously) on here has claimed on here. And I also have a squeaky clean credit record. I rest my case. :rolleyes:Call me Carmine....

Anyway, back on topic. Any rep know if this is just a 'one-off' or the start of a regular monthly promotion with a different retailer chosen each month?Call me Carmine....

Surely VAT is only levied where any value is added.... can't see how that could ever be the case with UW....
Cheers!

LOL. It's all kippen's fault, Gov. He suggested the change.
Anyway, continuing the share club theme of previous days, a very solid interim management statement issued this morning (no doubt attempting to diffuse the rush to sell the shares now the divi has been qualified to receive, lol. It won't work). I'm afraid there are now almost 30,000 distributors to potentially incur the wrath of Cardew's Anti UW Faction (TM)
Highlights
* Continuing strong organic growth
* Number of services up by 62,220 during the quarter to 856,338 (30 June 2008: 618,320)
* Customer numbers increase by 21,185 during the quarter to 302,360 (30 June 2008: 225,017)
* Distributor numbers increase to almost 30,000 (31 March 2009: 27,051)
* Dividend guidance for current year 22p (2009: 17.5p), an increase of 25%

I made an application for UW when I moved into a new house a few weeks ago. Since reading all the bad press about them I decided to cancel my application.
First I called my local distributor which was part of my letting agent and asked them to cancel but continued to receive literature concerning the progress of my application! I then called the customer service number and spoke to someone there who said that my order had in fact been cancelled and nothing further would be done.
Yesterday I got home to another letter from them telling me that my gas supply would be switched to them within 28 days.
I've called them once again this morning and asked about it, they said it was just an error and that the application had in fact been cancelled. I have asked for written confirmation of this but am concerned that the supply will be switched over and this will cause problems with my current supplier (ie cancellation costs etc). Is it possible that this could happen without my current supplier contacting me to confirm that the switch is invalid?0
