This doesn't mean they are shareholders in the common understanding of shareholders, it's a concept from Holland called Stichting. This of course may have changed since then.
2> Whether it specifically states the concept I don;t know, I haven't visited the site. When launched this was the main objective for the company, one price, no tiers, specifically benefits low income homes. It also benefits low users.
Unless they insist on a copy of the P60/annual accounts of the potential customer on application, how can they know this to be the case? Like I said before, fuel consumption is not and never has been a barometer of income. That's the problem I have with Ebico, without wishing to sound like DJ Smashey, I do my bit for charidee. But at least i am reasonably sure it's going to derserved causes this way. Ebico on my consumption? No chance. To potentially help pay for my ex business partner to save money on his low consumption when he has investments that would make many people green with envy? No thanks.

But it only costs companies about £20 a year to process cheque or cash payments.
Worst offender is on-line firm The Utility Warehouse Discount Club, which over-charges by £140 for gas and £87 for electric. By contrast, E.On and npower did not charge A PENNY extra.
Not checked energyhelpline, but BG are about £34 more expensive/year (average consumption etc - various as PP has one price nationally but quarterly is regional) on prepayment than quarterly, but the same price for electricity.0 -
Tempted to go in for some more shares today if there's a reaction to the News of the Screws story. If Wigoder's promise holds true and they do pay out a total didvidend of 22p next year, someone buying now and holding for 12.5 months would see a return on each share of 34.5p! Is this correct? Now, at current price that's a 12.5% return. Of course, that's on today's price, who knows what will have happened to the share price in 12.5 month's time? It could have gone down, gone up or stayed the same, lol. Not advice in any way shape or form, btw. DYOR.Call me Carmine....

And what is the nipple guarantee? Anyone seen the small print?
Would have thought that if there is a nipple guarantee it would be very much like UW's TVG
IE totally worthless and impossible to make a claim against.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
Just pondering,
The tenth commandment.
Thou shall not covet thy neighbours ox.
If someone liked UW services that their neighbour had, it would be morally wrong to attempt to purchase their house in order to obtain those services. However, liking and wanting to obtain similar would be allowed so if someone told their neighbour about UW and the neighbour liked it and wanted it, they could have UW services without breaking the tenth commandment.
I bring this up because UW used to provide a piggy box shaped smartbox for your telephone. The neighbours used to come around and see the box and want one. I used to have to say, well I can provide you with a similar one but not mine as if I gave you mine I would be making you break the tenth commandment. I wouldn't want you to be jealous of mine either.
The reason libel and slander are written into the law is because of the 8th commandment.
Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbour
To say something against your neighbour is for personal gain and their detriment. Jealousy is not a virtue. You should not covet what others have. Instead work on living a good life.Quentin's Cashback Card?

Hi Carmine
My take would be that the share price at the moment is about right, given the prediction for next year on profit etc. I doubt that the NotW impact will have a huge impact on the short-term price - lots of institutional investors in for the longer term. As to the price in 12.5 months, my crystal ball tells me that the price will be between 200p and 400p - it's not often wrong. :rotfl:
There are an an interesting couple of events coming up with NP and OPH this year.
Don't forget the fantastic opportunity for shareholdings >2500 - £10 a month off mobile contract.
It looks like a no-brainer (this is not intended to be relied upon for individual investment decisions. Take independent advice before making such decisions.)

Is the News of the Screws managing to keep abreast of current affairs these days?My nan used to read that rag in the early '70s (she lived on a road almost exclusively populated by OAPs and just about every house had it delivered. I know this for a fact as I was the paper boy at the time). I used to have a quick shifty at it before I got to my nans
Ahh, pleasant mammaries.
I hear it's easier to hold in one hand these days as well.

Yes, Mike, I think the share price is probably *slightly* being propped up by the divi next month but after that may still remain at £2.80-ish due to the npower and Oxford 'possibilities'. For a company with a £22 million profit to have a £15 million stake in another company is pretty impressive IMO. Especially having no debt to pay off. DYOR etc etc.
Crikey, book club the other night, share club today. What an impressive thread. The shareholder perk looks pretty good also, as you say:Qualifying Shareholding Details
