More misleading info from a uw rep.

Even the worthless guarantee doesn't claim that! The "cheaper than BG/regional electric supplier" claim doesn't include the monthly membership fee, and you must also pay by DD!

To be fair Quentin, he didn't say you will save money, just that you can.
I'm a bit disappointed that none of the UW IDs came back to clear up the suggestion from Maz that the TVG compared like with like (e.g. host supplier quarterly bill with UW quarterly bill or host supplier DD with UW DD).
Their silence seems to suggest that Maz was wrong and you are right.

I didn't quote the whole of his post, but if you read through it (#3887) you'll see that although he used the word "can", the meaning was "will", as he goes on to explain other tariffs that uw cannot beat. (Or its just clever use of the word "can" to mislead!)

They're all at it, even the saintly Ebico so not sure why Quentin majors on UW?

    http://www.ebico.co.uk/
Unique amongst gas and electricity suppliers, Ebico is a not-for-profit company. We know that electricity and gas prices rise and fall so our aim is to offer cheap electric and cheap gas on a fair basis with our customers having the option to add a robust carbon offset.

Cheap electric? Really? In my region (Yorkshire) and using the industry standard average leccy consumption (3300) they are £121 more expensive than Websaver 3. So what do they mean by 'cheap'? Ah, I see. They AIM to offer cheap electricity...
    Call me Carmine....

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??
  • Malaguti - go easy on your friend.

She's new, and excited, and clearly hasn't done her training yet. Criticising her for not knowing it all to begin with is a tad unfair - in any new role it takes time (often weeks or months) to learn the skills needed to be competent and confident.

'Real money', as you put it can be earned immediately - she will earn up to £40.00 for each new customer she gathers, which, as it should take her < 1 hour isn't bad for a PT job.

Clearly the business isn;t for you, but at least support her in her choice. She clearly sees something in it for herself.

Put your gas consumption into a comparison site (eg energyhelpline) and see how much more expensive uw is!
Why not just let her do her own due diligence as she stated that she intended to do. We are all individuals and have different wants. Due to your lack of finding Carmine a cheaper alternative to what he found with Utility Warehouse, you must realise that different people have different requirements not catered for by purely using the comparison sites. They are a good starting point but that is all.

That's why I find UW's business model morally questionable, quite apart from its similarity to an illegal pyramid scheme. The fact that the company is making massive profits (which some posters quote as evidence of the company's 'goodness') just means they must be ripping someone off somewhere...
In other words, you do not understand how Utility Warehouse provides a win-win situation for its customers, independent distributors, shareholders, management and employees.

    Yes they have.
Who was that? I ask as Carmine only repeated his challenge a few pages back.

As compared to the outright lie you told about me? The full blurb on the Triple Value Guarantee has been posted here more than once and is on Utility Warehouse literature for prospective customers to read as you are well aware.

To be fair it would appear that this friend is simply clueless about UW's high gas and electricity prices, rather than deliberately setting out to deceive Malaguti.

When she has 'done her training' she will have to make the choice if she still wants deceive Malaguti and all her other friends.

I quite like reading the Inspector Morse books by Colin Dexter as well.

Where has the UW book club gone?
