Quentin, if you truly believe UW are more guilty of mis-selling than the other utility companies, why don't you do the honourable thing and report them to OFGEM? That would surely be more community-spirited than just forever posting the same post with the same link so that the tiny minority of the general public will read it on here . Or why not 'go public' with this by reporting it to the press? I do find it difficult to get my head round why if you hate UW so much and you clearly believe they are mis-selling, you waste so much time on here telling us relatively few about it every few minutes when surely your time could be put to much better use in reporting it the people who could make more of a difference?

Let's be honest, during the 3 or so years you've been carrying on your one-man crusade against this company on here, their business would appear to have taken off massively (their share was one of the top 3 performers on the LSE last year, for instance). Your campaign aint working, mate.

PS And why don't you ever make your feelings known on here about all the examples of mis-selling from the Big 6 we've seen reported?

He won't because I firmly believe it won't be in his financial interest to do so. I obviously have no proof but with the very large and seemingly disproportionate number of posts made here and other threads apparently, I would not be at all surprised if he is being paid to write lots of negative anti UW comments. He doesn't need to tell ouright lies - planting seeds of doubt is all he needs to do.

Negative campaigning like negative advertising is far more effective in demoralising people and making undecideds think twice.

If he isn't being paid then I apologise unreservedly but if he isn't I for one would like an answer to a straight question. Why have you chosen to 'pick on' what in the great financial scheme of things is a very small player in the utilities market?

So, Quentin: are you being paid to write what you write or do you have a genuine reason for writing what you write?

    PS

I notice Quentin has suddenly gone all quiet. Is he doing his usual - waiting for others to post and for the pages and discussion to roll on to other areas. He doesn't like it when the focus is on him.

BUt if he has nothing to hide then what's the problem. If he doesn't have a personal agenda what's the problem. He's been asked that before and ignored it.

Thomas More in "A Man For All Seasons" when he was being tried for high treason said Silence gives consent". Could it be that Quentin's silence on this point is giving consent to my personal view of his reason for writing the way he does?

Keggs, you diagnosed me as having paranoia - maybe you need to see a real shrink!

Why would anyone pay someone to post anti uw comments? Who would fear them so much to go to such lengths?

    Your unreserved apology is accepted.

Crikey, it's probably even more embarrassing that you are doing it for nowt, lol. I'm not sure I'd want to pay somebody who can 'boast' a 'performance' like this one :

It could be that N-Power has an option to purchase Telecom Plus which it needs to exercise by November 20th, worth a punt on that basis maybe??
That gum you like is coming back in style.

    This is genius...imagine the scenario...

"Hi there Mr Prospect, I see you're interested in seeing what you would benefit from by being a UWDC customer. Let me show you...TVG, One Bill, Cashback Card, BC etc...

By the way, even though you like what you see, you really should do a comparison with everybody else because we're not the cheapest out there (and we don't claim to be!)".

So, by your argument, everyone in sales has a duty to inform their customers that there is a better deal out there than the one they are representing? When would any business get done??

Of course there is always a better deal out there - but it's up to those company's to put them in front of the customers!! Not the reps of their competitors!!

    Hilarious!!

Dear Quentin, would you be so kind as to answer the following queations please?

Is it the duty of UW reps to inform customers that there are cheaper deals out there than the ones they are offering for gas and electricity?

Is it the duty of Tesco to tell everybody that Asda are selling eggs cheaper than them?

Is it the duty of Waterstones to tell people that Borders have the latest hardback a pound cheaper?

I could go on, but hopefully you will come back with something that will astound us all.

    I eagerly await your reply.

By the way, Quentin, if you didn't get enough customers to get your £200 back I can understand your frustrations. But is it really the fault of anybone else but yourself?

I've taken a punt today and may top up right up until 10/7/09. I am fully aware that post-10/7/09 there will be an undoubted drop but medium-term Wigoder has promised a total 22p dividend this year (even though they've already stated profits will be lower due to financing the explosive growth). On current price that represents a very very decent yield (especially compared to what we are getting from the [STRIKE]casinos[/STRIKE] banks these days.) As well as the possible npower takeover, there's also the £15 million stake in Oxford Power Holdings which may be realised at some stage this year.

    Not advice, BTW. DYOR.
