and amazingly some people think they are going to make a 'new financial freedom' with this company !!

Its a nice way of getting someone to part with £200.:D

I wonder how many Active distributors they have.

indeed, and £200 is just the 'starter pack'. don't forget they need more and more printed literature which is not exactly given away- i was always convinced the company profitted from the sale of that going by the price. worst of all is the fact that as an agent in a constantly changing market the brochures etc need to be entirely replaced at an increasing rate of knots - which means you can easily make no profit until you have plenty of customers: if you have swallowed the hype and stuck it out that long.
they used to have 1,000's of distributers believe me !

Hi, firstly i am a UWDC distributor, and customer,

with regards to the £200, i know of several MLM setups that charge more and provide less, and some that provide mor and charge less, up to you what market you want to be involved in. plus, you can now get that rebated by gathering a certain number of cutomers within a predefined time period, therefore making it effectively free to get involved.

for me, the couple of hours i put in each month, and the continuing monthly reward, are worth it based on a long term plan of generating a second income.

as for my ethics in terms of offering to friends and family - simple - offer the services, highlight the benefits to each customer on an individual basis, and be honest, if it isnt worth it say so - sometimes its enough to get the customer cos honesty is appreciated.

one final point for now - i dont like the 0871 number either, but at least the system tells you very early into the call approximately how long the wait is rather than just "you are in a queue", if its too long - hang up and call back

all mlms' by law have to charge a MAXIMUM of £200 sign up-fact.
if your'e only working it ''couple hours a month'' i wouldn't be too expectant at all of a useful ''second income''. I suggest you start considering the effects of 'churn' : highest in the utility market.
re the 0870 number- you just don't 'get it' do you ! customers don't either etc etc...oh whats the point: mlm brainwashing strikes again !
    good luck

    Hi chinup

Is this a statistic or just a view?

    What benefits

All they really offer true Money Saver,s is the USP of the One Bill.

They charge £1.76p a month for membership, they then expect you to call an expensive 0871 Number for service.

My brother-in-law has just signed up as a distributor (against my advice) and is trying to flog these services to me.
Now, I am a sceptical person and things that seem to good to be true usually are. Can someone provide me with some concrete information about why I shoud/shouldn't transfer my gas and electricity to them?

    1. You have to pay them £21 a year to belong to their club.

    2. You can more then likely get it cheaper, and get some cash back. See: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/utilities/you-switch-gas-electricity

    3. If you have problems your need to call an expensive 0871 number to reach their customer service.

If your brother was not a distributor would you have even given them a thought.

    3. If you have problems your need to call an expensive 0871 number to reach their customer service. - True(ish) - 5p a minute if you are a customer.

    4. Alternatively, if you have problems you can get hold of your brother-in-law and ask him to sort it out, 24/7, no expensive number and you get to talk to the same person each time.

If your brother was not a distributor would you have even given them a thought.

All in all you have to make your own decision, there is no perfect solution. Why not give it a go and then if it goes well, that's great and if not, you can tell your b-in-l for ever what a silly decision it was. Best of both worlds. :D

    All the best

    Mike By The Sea.

To suggest that it only costs 5p a minute to call the 0871 number if your a customer is misleading.

You have to be a Telephony/Broadcall Customer of the UWDC for it to be 5p a minute. Its 10p a minute plus a connection charge for Gas/Electric only customers.

If your phone is not working and you have to call them from another phone its unlikely your be able to get the 5p rate anyway.

    I quote from their site.

" Calls to these numbers by customers using our Home Phone or BroadCall phone service will be charged at a reduced rate of 5p per minute at all times. Calls from our mobile services will be charged at standard rates. Calls to these numbers from a BT phone cost 10p per minute and costs of calls from mobile networks other than ours may vary."
