encouraged to deceive
...is a bit strong. It's network marketing - the job is based upon sharing information with people. Most who come into the industry don't have the necessary level of skill yet to go out there and generate an immediate level of success, so this is a good way of getting some experience without having your nose put out of joint...
If people were left to go out and speak to 'cold' prospects they would never get started as too many 'No's' in the early stages are liable to put people off. Thankfully, there is lots of help to develop these skills over time.Utility Warehouse Distributor/Professional Network Marketer0 -

You think the deception advocated in this video is ok, then?
People asked to help out a friend who has a problem at work by letting them practice on them? But deceit is the agenda, isn't it?
This is the intro to the video (note the quotes round "practice apointment"):Here's another video that demonstrates Group Director, Shannon Griffin booking a 'practice appointment', no doubt with a view to signing up a multi-service customer for at least four services, because that's what the top distributors do.

Told you. I hope you've got the stamina. It's like an endless race - just goes round and round and round and.....
I think I'll go and have a nice cup of tea and a lie down. Sorry - already am. Well sitting up really with one leg up.0 -
Aren't you anti UW brigade bored with all this by now. I know I am. It's just plain silly now.0

OK Quentin......I'll let you win.....Just kidding0

Sure looks like I am...wow! (my username is from my wristwatch).
Do I think the deception is okay? Good question. That video is shown at the training days and is part of a much wider course, so to view it on its own is taking it out of context. So, yes, if taken in its intended full context with the pre and post video training material, I do think it's okay. Have you done the training course yet?
I will qualify what I have said by also stating that it is the duty of each UW ID to honestly and accurately promote the features and benefits of the services UW offers and not mislead people. UW is not much different from any other supplier, and it isn't the solution for everyone.
I'm not going to get drawn into a debate about the ethics of MLM with you - it's clear you have made your own mind up. What I do want to clear up though is the issue of 'getting paid' for recruiting new team members. The important thing to bear in mind is that anyone who joins will earn far more for the work they do than the person that introduced them - that's fair isn't it?
Secondly, yes it's £200 to register. But...if you're prepared to invest some time in learning new skills (which is what most 'failed' MLM people don't realise) the upside earning potential far eclipses the initial investment.
Anyhoo...:beer:Utility Warehouse Distributor/Professional Network Marketer0 -
Great answer - won't satisfy Quentin though (and someone else will probably pick holes).
Stick around - it gets better:j0 -

Investment in what? Lets see £200 x 26,000 = £5,200,000.
UW was formed end of 2002. So from 2003-2009 (so far) they have averaged 4,300 new salesmen a year. So a profit each year of £866,000 for nothing. Like I said nice work if you can get it. Plus I take all UW salemen are self employed so UW are not liable for NI or any tax returns. Damn that's a good idea.:rolleyes:0
