Am I to presume then, that you did not check to see if the video is copyrighted?

    1) The club membership and fee was never mentioned throughout.

It is clearly listed in the service brochure he went through with them (clearly visible on the left hand page when he was going through the typical savings on the right hand page), it would have been included on the front page of the bill he showed them. Had the video continued to show the complete sign up process rather than cutting off after he mention the business opportunity he would have had to ask them which level of membership they would like. Your statement that UW distributors being 'encouraged to keep it simple' means not mentioning the membership fee is false.

    2) He claimed straight away he would save them £500, (without bothering to do any comparison with whoever they were currently with), then upped it to £620 by saying the savings they would make on adding their telephone.

When talking about the savings he clearly states 'for an average house'. He even seems to emphasise the 'average'. The page of the brochure he shows them for this part clearly states "Typical annual savings".

    3) He told them about the guarantee, using it as a "sales tool", but never went into the small print.

The small print is right there on the page he's showing them, directly under the guarantee, in the same purple boxed section. The fact that he doesn't sit and read out every single word of the small print and Ts&Cs is hardly relevant and doesn't in my opinion show intent to mislead or 'manipulate minds' as you implied.

    4) Which? states:
Commercial use of our content is not permitted

Which? also allow companies that have been awarded a best buy award to display the which? best buy logo on their marketing materials, for a fee.

Of course, none of the above, right or wrong, amounts to more than nit-picking. I still think UW offer the best overall package and an unbeatable range of customer benefits. I think it's safe to assume you disagree, but can you suggest a company with a better offer?

As I did not make it, no. As I have looked at the full video on the web site by registering there and understand that it is just a training tool, no. I have answered your question, how about you answering mine with a straight yes or no. Did you check to see if the video is copyrighted, and, if so gain permission to publish its whereabouts?

Do I take it that had you made it, you would have been ashamed?

As for your second question, NO.

It is published on this website and available on-line.

Don't UW want their sales techniques exposed? Something to hide?

    Absolutely not.

It was put on this web site by yourself when you put it there. Even if only repeating the post of another person, you have published it too. You are therefore responsible for any copyright infringement if you had no permission from the people who own the copyright.

Why would I worry about exposing Utility Warehouse sales techniques as I have been showing them myself in messages here? I certainly have nothing to hide and I recommend Tom "Big Al" Schreiter's web site to anybody interested in MLM.

Back to the point of this forum:- I pay less for my utilities with Utility Warehouse than with any other supplier by using my pre payment card. If you are willing to do your shopping at certain stores then you can pay less for your utilities too. Is your brain manipulated yet?

I am an Independent Distributor with Utility Warehouse and any opinions expressed her are my own and may not be shared by the company.

here's another shocker off youtube, training you on how easy it is to get more contacts
There's nothing shocking there, apart from the phone numbers being publicised. If I wanted to find a good plumber, I would ask somebody if they knew one. If I wanted new customers, I would ask my present ones if they know anybody else who would be interested in paying less for their utilites. What is shocking about that?

And, just in case this message starts a new page:- I am an Independent Distributor with Utility Warehouse and any opinions expressed her are my own and may not be shared by the company.

Crikey me, here's me thinking the enforced lay-off might have dampened a few ardours (oooeerr).

All good fun but I suppose the worry is the massive post count (and gnashing of teeth) in this thread could detract from the help given to people in need elswehere on this forum. Hope not, as even 'Trolls':rolleyes: like me try and give help where it's needed (assuming I know owt about the problem being discussed, of course). Time for a recap, I reckon. I'm not including ANY discount from the cashback card in my calculation, btw. But we all know that for anybody who doesn't live in a cave (and probably for some that do) there's a decent-sized discount to be had from using and harnessing the power of your retail spend (ooerr, I sound like a selling guru :p). but it DOES do that, does it not? I've seen people spending close to £200 on a 'family shop' (2 trolley-fulls) and paying on their common or garden debit card. Crazy. We still do. Embarrassing. :o There's discount in them thar shopping trolleys.

Here's my (revised) projected deal (based on much reduced, and frankly not before time, leccy usage). Let's have some properly researched alternatives and links etc. All sensible (not to mention sober :p) replies considered. Please...
    Yorkshire Region.

    Gas 15000 kwhs

    Leccy 4800 kwhs :j

Up to 24mb BB (my exchange is fully capable of exploiting this, btw)

    40gb monthly download allowance

Free modem (yes, they CAN have it back should I ever leave! ;))

    Phone Line Rental

Inclusive 24/7 calls to 01,02,03 AND 08545/0870 numbers

10 international destinations included in the inclusive calling package.

    Silver club membership

£10,000 accidental death insurance (I don't know any Russian KGB people and don't enjoy sushi so that's one worry out of the way)

    FREE calls to CS/BB support

No minimum term contract on any service (subject to £50 exit fee if leave the phone/BB package within 12 months. BT would charge how much if you left after 12 months? Almost £200 smackeroos! Nothing with UW).

Chance to refer like-minded friends (hell, even sworn enemies AFAICT :p) to receive %tage discounts off our bill (on-going as well!)

Free membership of Prospero Magazine and their exclusive discount offers (who knows? I'll have a butchers for nowt).

Cashback card that can mean sizeable discounts off the bill by shopping at designated High Street outlets, the 'biggie' obviously being Sainsburys for groceries, electrical items, heck even mobile top-ups and gift vouchers for other retailers if what has been posted on here continues ).

12x paper monthly bills fully itemised detailing all the services I take.

One monthly DD for the lot.

Optional budget plan (yet another brilliant idea that the Big 6 should think about copying).

    Anything missed/unintentionally embellished etc?

Let's forget the cashback card for a minute, shall we, as I know that's a major fly in Hugh and 'Fletcher Reede's' ointment.

    Total annual bill: £1387.00

    Monthly DD: £115.58

I bet our distributors round here would like all potential customers to be as gullible as those poor folk. The rep just say, 'would you like to try that?', and they say yes to everything, absolutely amazing!! I see the triple guarantee was given without any caveat re. excludes online and dual fuel tariff even though he was happy to push online billing to save the planet.

Less detail the better is certainly the name of the game. Then Gary ended with the golden goodbye, asking the 'yes' couple if they would like to be a UW distributor without even telling them that he would take a cut from any of their future sales.
