It all gets mightily confusing, doesn't it? From what I can see, any punter who has gas and electric from UW (i.e. soon to be me) would then struggle to get a better deal/price on their phone/BB/calls bundles elsewhere? Of course, I'm excluding Tiscali here for what I hope are obvious reasons, lol.Call me Carmine....

Yes. Another thing i noticed was that TT want £4 a month to boost your broadband over 8 meg where possible.

Where as UW dont seem to charge anymore for up to 24 meg broadband.
You also need to factor in the TT £29.99 connection charge when comparing prices.0 -

Yes, that's where my previous figure of £28.66 per month came from. £17.74 is the 'starting figure' but to get it to the spec of UW's £20/mth package (for those who of course already have UWs gas and electric) you need to add £4 speed boost, £4 anytime call package and £1.67 for the connection fee (£30 divided by the 18 month min. contract) and £1.25 for a paper bill. So, the very impressive looking £17.74 suddenly becomes £28.66! £104 per year extra. And there's that min 18 mth tie -in which compares unfavourably to UWs £50 'exit fee' should you jump ship within 12 months (if you leave the TT contract after precisely 12 months the charge could very well be £170! UW nothing but you may have to return the modem, lol). I suppose this is what UW distributors are getting at when they say UW works very well as a package.
PS This is ignoring the £3.95/mth for 'free' international calls as well. And how much extra for inclusive 0845/0870 numbers? £32.61 per month?Call me Carmine....

Are we supposed to fill in "

Is it "big al and the reps at the uw rally"?

Or are you cynically trying to get round the rules about no advertising and not declaring you are in fact a rep yourself?0 -

I was talking about UW reps in generalThe mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

I get my electricity, gas, phone line, broadband and mobile phone from the Utility Warehouse because I get good service, and, by using my pre payment card I get those utilities at a lower cost than I can with any other company. I also get a paper bill every month that is quite easy to understand. I made a personal choice to go with this company because of the benefits I get. I accept that others will not want the restrictions placed on their shopping habits by the card and they will choose to go elsewhere. The overall deal I get is the best choice for me in my circumstances.
I am an Independent Distributor with Utility Warehouse and any opinions expressed her are my own and may not be shared by the company. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.
