I'm sorry, are my eyes deceiving me, does that actually say 'a decent supplier' immediately followed by the initials 'BG'?? Have you been on the sauce again? OK, I concede BG aren't as bad as npower. Neither was dyptheria for that matter but it's not something I would wish to contract (with).
And did I also see the letters BT followed by 'package is great'?
Nice one.
PS The projected £9,000 spend hasn't budged in the last few days. I just wish I could say the same thing about your claim that French & Saunders were advertising UW on your TV 'most evenings' :rotfl: . That's some technological masterpiece you have there. In all seriousness, how can anyone accept important advice from someone who makes things up to try and prove a point?
PS I would be interested what your mate Quentin thinks about your 'great BT package'.
PPS Can Wolverhampton ever be classed as Staffordshire? Totally off-topic, I know, but I'm relying on your local knowledge on this one to help settle a bet.
..
I am intrigued that you would bring up Staffordshire?? Anyway I believe Wolverhampton was part of Staffordshire until the county of West Midlands was formed some 30+ years ago.0 -
You can get broadband and line rental cheaper elsewhere (eg £20 at Tiscali)

Historically its part of Staffordshire, but as Cardew says it became part of the then new West Midlands Metropolitan County in 1974.

I saw this  . Seriously, if Tiscali is Quentin's only suggestion for a cheaper phone/BB/calls package for Decado23, then no wonder UW appear to be doing so well. It would sort of back up the 0.9/10 score for CS currently showing on reviewcentre.
PS Thanks for the info regarding Staffordshire (and to Cardew as well). :beer:Call me Carmine....

How low will they go?
An aspect of the uw that is a concern is the cynical way the reps are encouraged to bring in their friends and relatives. If you are told by your brother-in-law he "just found out" a way to get cheaper utilities, you don't dream he will con you, and talk of the price guarantee etc (which we know to be worthless) will be believed.
More sinister, though, the reps are encouraged to contact their friends and tell them they just been on a course, and need their help as they "really need to do a bit of practicing" - though cynically that is not the reason at all:
Note this is the way to go, as this is what the "top" uw guys/gals do:Here's another video that demonstrates Group Director, Shannon Griffin booking a 'practice appointment', no doubt with a view to signing up a multi-service customer for at least four services, because that's what the top distributors do.

Just reserved 2 Epson Stylus Sx100 printer/copier/scanner type thingies to pick up from my local Comet. Total price £54 (cheaper than anywhere else from what I can see). If I had the UW card that would have been £2.70 off my bill (36 hours of my ridiculously profligate leccy consumption paid for
). Just waiting for the £72 from SP and UW here I come.

yes, we know. Sales people are being taught sales techniques. This is neither new nor interesting. It's clear you're quite proud of finding the videos on networkerplus. Great, give yourself a pat on the back and then move on. Perhaps you could start with trying to suggest a better package than the one I'm on or the one Carmine has proposed.
Or you could start by apologising for falsely accusing me of 'cynically' posting 'intentionally misleading' information.
P.S. Good morning everyone. ding ding round 459?
P.P.S to actually address the point raised - yes, it is suggested in our training to arrange practice appointments with friends/family etc. The aim is for people new to the business (many with no sales background, like myself) to get used to arranging appointments and giving presentations, preferably with 'friendly faces' to begin with. If the people we practice with like the service offerings, see that they are cheaper than their current supplier and choose to take advantage of the many customer benefits offered (I listed a few previously and have still received no suggestion of another company that provides anything even approaching the benefits available to UW customers) then what is wrong with that?
If they don't like the services offered, then the practice is still valuable.

Hi Carmine - if you go via TopCashBack or Quidco, you can use the Comet click-and-collect and get 3.5% off the bill (that is in addition to any cashback you may get from using your credit card, UW payment card).
http://www.topcashback.co.uk/retailerdetailComet.htm
If that link is classed as advertising - I will obviously remove it. I didn't include my referral details, for which I believe I would get something for a new person signing up. To be honest, I'm not into signing people up to make a little bit of money here and there. Whoops, what have I said now?!?!
If anyone does use these cashback type sites, remember to always clear your cookies before linking through to the website, otherwise the cashback may not track.0 -

More cynicism.
This would sound all very plausible till you read the blurb that comes with the clip:Here's another video that demonstrates Group Director, Shannon Griffin booking a 'practice appointment', no doubt with a view to signing up a multi-service customer for at least four services, because that's what the top distributors do.
1) The truth about the "practice" is given away in them putting the quotes around 'practice appointment'
2) And "no doubt with a view to signing up........."
3) If it's really only the "practice" exercise Decado23 insists, why would "the top distributors do" these?
How much practice on her friends does Group Director Shannon (and Decado23 for that matter) have to do?0 -

B*gger, totally forgot about that  I'll re-order through TCB (currently my very favourite CB site!). Potentially £4.50-ish total cashback on a £54 order. Smashing. Cheers, mate :beer:Call me Carmine....
