Page 11 para g) is what you are looking for I think.

Virgin are the same with their kit, though rarely seem to collect it, my daughter has inherited a couple of cable modems at her new house.

You would have done all his future contacts a favour if you'd left him to read the ts + cs himself!

What is the thinking behind telling the reps not to answer any questions about the products they are selling, as shown in the video:

Fair enough. I admit I don't know everything - still better to ask for sources than throw around false accusations like some people eh? ;-)

I'll let Quentin's local A&E know about this just so they are prepared! Defibrillator or, hopefully, just smelling salts? :D

Ok, now we've established I'll need to return the router if I choose to cancel my UW broadband and I'm ok with that. Any further offers on my earlier question...

I've just put my usage into energyhelpline. Apparently the cheapest energy tariff for me is npower sol14, saving me £119 annually (UW membership fee included in the calculations). Of course, there's nothing stopping npower putting the price up so Sol14 becomes by far the most expensive option. Not saying they will, only that there's nothing stopping them (if only they had a TVG).

Interesting to note I was previously with npower paying considerably more for my energy. They chose not to inform me I could save lots by changing tariff.

I also notice the £119 saving includes £100 of discount I'll lose if I switch before 12 full months. So if we don't include that it's a saving of £19 annually.

Oh, I also had a new BT line installed by UW at £25 less than BT would have charged. and I get lots of free calls (including the wife's friends in germany and my family in israel & canada). and my wife can call her family in Croatia for 4.9p per minute.

and I get around £15-£20 per month discount for using the cashback card to buy things I would have bought anyway.

and I have access to the member benefits directory with lots of other discounts. Haven't used them yet but will be getting quotes for home insurance & car insurance soon and AA membership.

On top of that, If I wasn't already a distributor, I could recommend the services to others and get additional discounts on my bill for as long as they remain a customer (up to 100% if I recommended enough people - service charges only, not membership or cashback card related charges. Still, the potential for gas, elec, phone, internet & mobile all costing under £5 per month in total is still pretty good).

Oh, and that's with a company with good customer service, all services on one bill, all paid with a single monthly DD (paid in arrears).

Now, how about someone tell me a supplier that offers more benefits for their customers. Or even any benefit at all other than "we're cheap at the moment, it may not last but you have to stick with us at least a year anyway"

LOL. Interestingly, on my post code (when it worked, it's currently not working for me, teething problems, lol?) and household profile etc they get to a very similar figure (£452) for the cashback card as my projected one (spooky!) and here's the explanation of how its calculated:
    Shopping and petrol

Our unique CashBack card gives you 5% CashBack when you use it at Sainsbury’s petrol stations and stores, as well as at a range of other leading retailers. The saving shown is based on you receiving 5% CashBack on food, drink and personal transport (fuel) costs, and uses expenditure figures in those categories, and relevant household profiles, from Family Spending, Office for National Statistics, 2008 edition.

I wonder who will be googling Family Spending, Office for National Statistics, 2008 edition all night..... :D

    Hi Quentin

I can't find the reference to your interpretation of the video in question. The interpretation I get from it is that you can't know everything about everything and even the top distributors in the business dont know either.

I guess everyone has a different interpretation depending on their mind-set.

That would also be my interpretation - we don't need to know everything before we get started. Any tricky questions come up, we have the T&Cs + tariff guide handy, and if we can't find what we're looking for head office is only a phone call away.
