as for BT, Unless I'm missing something it looks like the closest they offer to what I get with UW is the phone & Broadband unlimited package - £23.54/month for 3 months, then £29.41 thereafter. plus £11.25 line rental. 18mth contract.
With UW I pay £24.99, including line rental.
You can get broadband and line rental cheaper elsewhere (eg £20 at Tiscali)
The free calls are included, as opposed to having to pay more to join the uw club and get 2 more expensive services in order to claim "buying more services gets me free calls".0 -

you forget to mention the £30 set up fee, multiple ASA adjudications and the 12 month minimum contract.
The free call package they offer makes no mention of Croatia or Israel that I can see. Link to the rates page seems broken so I'll just assume it's expensive
Not to mention the suspended debt repayments recently being a possible cause for concern. And I seem to recall they scored particularly low on the which customer satisfaction survey.
Had A UW rep made these ommissions regarding UW services would you accuse them of 'intentionally misleading'?
Still waiting for an apology :A
Even without all that, the cashback card, benefits directory & customer discount plan give UW the potential for a considerably cheaper service, with good customer support etc etc
hmm... I think I'll upgrade to silver membership - £10,000 accidental death benefit would be nice. Not planning to die anytime soon but it would be nice to know the wife 'n kid would have a little help if the worst happened. Only cost an extra 50p per month or so - easily covered by the amount I'm saving since I switched.

where are your achievements?Quentin's Cashback Card?

Quentin and Cardew, pack it in for your own sakes. This reminds me of the battering Rocky Balboa was getting in the original Rocky film. I tell you, if I had been the ref in that fight there wouldn't have been any sequels and Stallone would still be a waiter now. It's almost embarrassing to see you getting ripped apart by someone who clearly knows their stuff. But if you persist I feel I may be able to cancel my Sky sub, thsi is far more entertaining, not to mention free, lol.
HaHaHa...Quentin recommending Tiscali....HaHaHa!!!!
PS Forgot to say, Cardew off ignore, Sky sub hovering, lol.Call me Carmine....

I'm not trying to sell you any particular product, just pointing out there are cheaper alternatives, not limited to the one example given.
Note though, that you save £60 over 12 months on the example given, the modem is free, (ie a complimentary gift - unlike the uw hardware).
Uw is well known for its ASA adjudications.
I suspect that more than 90 tiscali customers replied to the survey you mention. (Only 90 uw "customers" replied to the recent which survey)0 -
He's STILL recommending Tiscali!!!!! LOL!Call me Carmine....

I make it £30 (don't forget the setup fee). My netgear wireless router was included at no additional cost - intentional misinformation or are your research abilities slipping? But how much extra will those international calls (croatia - often/israel - occasionally) cost me? And is the remainder (if any) enough to justify giving up the customer discount plan, cashback card, benefits directory, accidental death benefit... ? IMO No.Uw is well known for its ASA adjudications.
i've seen a couple of technicalities that BT whinged about. Still, you are happy to point out asa adjudications as an 'against' for UW yet ignore them completely when recommending tiscali as an alternative.I suspect that more than 90 of their customers replied to the survey tou mention. (Only 90 uw "customers" replied to the recent which survey)
I'm less interested in how many responded and more interested in how many of those that did respond were happy with the service.

will they ever make a come back?Quentin's Cashback Card?

What a strange dude Quentin (I'm assuming he's a dude, of course) is. He bases almost his entire argument against UWs cashback card on the fact that, if UW went out of business what was on the card would be lost but now recommends Tiscali broadband.

(Quentin doesn't seem much of a fan of them in that thread, lol, but he does manage to pick a fight with a board guide, lol).Call me Carmine....
