Don't UW customers need to be informed? The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

I suppose that's another advantage of sending a paper bill every month - it can be used to effectively keep your punters up to date with developments. Even the companies that issue paper bills could keep their punters waiting 6 months for news in some cases. Anyway, back to the footie...Call me Carmine....

The price comparison site prices they quote are usually higher than the amounts the customer pays.
Why on earth would comparison sites quote rates that are higher than the customer pays? I could understand it if you said that the other way round as that would work in the comparison sites favour.
As far as I'm aware its only Uswitch that counts the club fee twice, energyhelpline certainly doesnt.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

I meant for UW prices.
The comparison site prices for the big 6 tend to include the dual fuel discounts as well.
There are different profiles for UW, as in low, standard and high. UW calculate the best tariff for someone's usage based separately for both gas and electricity. The price comparison sites combine them in the case of dual fuel so that both are either low, standard or high. So for instance if someone is low user for electricity and high for gas then instead of calculating the price based on low user tariff for electricity and high user tariff for gas, the comparison site will show the combined low user price, or combined standard price or combined high user price. This will make the price higher than the user pays.
Many of the sites show the club membership price twice as well. Not just uswitch.
The standing charge is often slightly higher than the actual amount as well.
Its rare that the price matches the actual price people pay with UW. As a result people see UW lower down the leader board than it is in reality.
UW have other savings discounts and cashback card not mentioned on price comparison sites. Its the total price you pay that counts.Quentin's Cashback Card?

If the switching sites were so interested in showing ALL relevant details surrounding all tariffs thereby ensuring all visitors had the chance to get the best possible deal then there's absolutely no reason why they shouldn't mention the cashback card in their little detail box. It's a major addition to the tariff that, unlike any other supplier's tariff, *could* make UW the cheapest on the market (as I've demonstrated). They already tell us about piffling 'added value' stuff like Argos vouchers, nectar points, Tesco points etc but miss the biggest potential money saving addition of them all. Strange...Call me Carmine....
