Utility Warehouse (Telecom Plus) Discussion

83% of the customers who expressed an opinion in one publication are satisfied with what they get....... For many, money is not everything. For some, having the cheapest is important and they are prepared to accept restrictions on their habits in order to get that lowest price point. For those who shop regularly at Sainsbury's and a couple of dozen or so other stores, they can gain a price advantage overall.
I accept the restrictions and save some £4.50 every month on my utilities ........ Yes, the original prices for gas and electricity were higher with Utility Warehouse. BUT, overall, I get THE CHEAPEST for me in my circumstances, including paying all fees. If I can do it, there are millions of other who can do it too, if they follow the guidelines.
Lots of discussion points in your promo for uw:
In the survey you mention, there is a worry about the few uw customers that returned their surveys. (It is based on only 90 uw "customers", as opposed to (eg) 1278 SSE customers). More of a worry, the uw customers gave "perfect" 5 stars for all categories (except online support and dealing with queries where Which wouldn't include the votes on the grounds there were too few responses) including the value for money category. We are used to spotting uw reps giving perfect 10s to uw in on line reviews. Maybe Which need to be shown how to spot a biased completed survey coming from a uw rep. Even the Times couldn't understand the value for money success, bearing in mind the higher cost their members have to pay.
You post here to encourage us to follow your lead and get the uw card to help lower the price. But anyone could get similar discounts at Sainsbury's etc quite independently of uw by using an ordinary prepayment card. (In your case you could obviously save loads more than the £4.50 you are so happy with!)0 -

Probably because so few have had problems that need resolving.

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
I believe that is why you post bigoted messages here.
My reference to "I just found out a way to get your utilities for free" as being a cynical ploy by uw was a direct quote from the Big Al mind control talk at the uw faithful's rally showing on the net here:

Maybe you chose to keep away! (Or slept through it!!)
How then do you twist it to being a "bigoted message" from me??0 -

What, another advertising link posted on MSE - what has happened to the rules?
Also, what is the cynical ploy being used here?

Could it be the reps so anxious to stop us going to the comparison sites have a personal vested interest in all this.
Should a customer join up with a rep, we learn from the martini presentation the rep only gets £5 for signing them up for gas & electricity.
Compare this with the amounts available to the customer if they go direct to uw and cut the vinny's out of the picture (eg £34 from energylinx).
Presumably uw can afford to pay energylinx in (much more than the £34) as they don't then have to pay any rep his on going cut from the customer's monthly bills.
So no wonder vinny doesn't want us to use the switching sites recommended by MSE!0 -

The uw put up a lecturer to show their reps when selling to "contacts" how to:Control their mind and freeze their brain with four words..."I just found out...",
And you ask where it is a "cynical ploy"???0 -

Dear Quentin
Why do you persist in this statement that uw pay energylinx anything when a customer signs up through them when you have singularly failed to prove this point with any factual information apart from a line in the energylinx site that says they receive a payment from suppliers. We have shown you that your ukpower assumption was incorrect and so any man in the street would find it hard to believe that your other "fact" is correct either. It would be much more useful to the readers of MSE if they could trust some of these comments.Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught - Sir Winston Churchill0 -

Dear Quentin
Although this isn't the quote you made in your previous post, would these 4 words control your mind and freeze your brain? I doubt it.Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught - Sir Winston Churchill0
