Why do you persist in this statement that uw pay energylinx anything when a customer signs up through them .

You have a vested interest in saying energylinx are lying. Though the rest of us cannot seewhy they would want to.

What possible reason would they have for telling this lie and why would they pay out their own money to supply uw with customers.

You can see what happens when companies don't pay then commission (like Ebico) - you cannot switch to them via energylinx.

If energylinx are lying, and the uw is so cross about this, then they ought to take it up with energylinx direct.

Equally the same for ukpower who also pay cashback to customers going through them to uw!

    Dear Quentin

These are your words not mine, I have no doubt that energylinx and ukpower would not pay cashback without getting something back. It is you that has added 2 and 2 and made 5.

Why would they lie and say they get paid a commission by the company for customers who sign up through them? Then pass part on to the customer as cashback.

would these 4 words control your mind and freeze your brain? I doubt it.

By the same argument, the uw says to its reps that there are only 3 ways a contact will respond to the martini presentation. Do you think that is right? Or could you think of a fourth to add to these:
With the Martini Presentation, there are only three possible outcomes

    1. "Yes". All you have to do now is complete the paperwork.

    2. "I would like to think about it." This is what you say: "I understand that it's not the speed of the decision that counts but the accuracy of the decision that's important. So as part of your investigation it would make sense to trial the services (show the guarantees again in the brochure whilst you're saying this) wouldn't it (nod head). Your friend agrees. You complete the paperwork.

    3. "It's not for me." You say this. Thanks for your honesty but if you consider our guarantees (show them in the brochure while your saying this) it would make sense for you to save some money wouldn't it? (nod your head). Your contact agrees and you complete the paperwork.

Lots of discussion points in your promo for uw:
Just the one really as this is a money saving site.

Is it possible that, including paying all relevant fees, by using the pre payment card and shopping to a certain level at Argos, Boots, Burton, Comet, Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Goldsmiths, Halfords, Homebase, House of Fraser, JJB Sports (in-store only), Marriott Hotels, Miss Selfridge, Mothercare, Outfit, River Island, Sainsbury's (for the sake of argument, food & drink only), TGI Fridays, Thorntons, Topshop, Topman, Virgin Experience, Wallis and a few others that one can pay less for utilities than with any other company?

I'll give you a clue. I do it.

Have any of you distributors brought this thread (and in particular Quentin's potentially libellous musings) to the attention of the company? I genuinely feel it's time to let them deal with this. I know what I would be doing if it was my company....

    So you keep telling us.

    You ignore the obvious flaw:

You are having to buy expensive utilities to then get the cashcard discount knocked off.

Why not buy the cheapest utilities elsewhere and use another (non uw) cashcard and get the savings on your shopping yourself, rather than just giving it to uw?

Now my wife is 'on board' (she couldn't believe that Sainsburys could prove cheaper than Tesco and Asda until she saw it with her own purse, lol), then my £6,000 projected spending figure on the card will prove to be massively conservative as there's every chance that figure will be realised annually just from Sainsburys. Take into account Xmas shopping for groceries and pressies (we spent almost £1500 at Argos and Boots last Xmas on account of my wife having a HUGE family, lol) and I reckon the actual figure will come in at £9,000, not including any one-off purchases like great value electricals from Sainsburys. Which would equate to a net £433 discount off our UW bill. Which, pre-decrease, and assuming no further price cuts during the year, will give us 15000kwhs of gas and 6000kwhs of leccy for the princely sum of £862!!! Beat that! It's approaching Cardew's super duper fixed deal he took out in 2005!
