I cant see how you are saving money. Please explain precisely how you think that you save money following this method.
By taking my phone lines, broadband, mobile phones (old cheap contract & payg), electricity and gas from Utility Warehouse and using the prepayment card for all my usual shopping (when using sainsbugs etc suits), I pay less than I would to any other company or combination of companies. Admittedly I could save a bit more by rate tarting for elecricity and gas but I just can't be bothered with going through the rigmarole every few months. There are millions of people who pay the highest prices because they can not be bothered to swap or are "happy as I am," and, this is bread and butter for some of the larger companies who can therefore afford to have cheap rates in order to gather new customers. Utility Warehouse may not have the cheapest prices for individual services, what they have is an innovative way for certain customers to pay less if they normally shop in certain ways.

I am an independent distributor with Utility Warehouse and the views I express may not be shared by the company.

You try to make it sound like UW are just a few pounds more expensive - they ain't!!

The average customer pays over £300 a year more with UW than the cheapest company. Just to 'recover' that £300+ extra you must spend between £6,000 and £7,000 a year in shops that accept the UW card.

Why not save the £300+ and get another card(like Babee) and get the same savings.

Or if the UW card is a 'must' for you, get gas and electricity elsewhere and save £hundreds and just retain phone or boadband.

It is pertinent to point out that even before the cashacrd was introduced, you were still trying to pretend UW were good value by virtue of the TVG.

    Only Good Energy and Utilita!

Even BG's much derided standard tariff is approx 12% cheaper than UW.

For someone in the Midlands on average consumption UW are 35.8% more expensive than the cheapest tariff.
Good Energy don't offer a comparative tariff do they ?? I thought they only sold what they could buy from renewable sources ??

The best advice is to ensure that each potential customer researches well before swapping between providers.
Yes, the best advice is do your research, which is why I and others here recommend using comparison sites, something not one UW salesperson would recommend,

I bet it goes something like this """trust me I'm your friend, you don't need to do research, & never trust one of those horrible comparison sites that show UW are actually very very much mroe expensive than other dual fuel tariffs out there, look I have all the charts to prove just how cheap UW are""""

Agreed, for all practical purposes UW are the most expensive provider of Gas and Electricity in UK.

They can't even hide behind their discredited TVG any more.
