Oh why did I come on here? I really want one of those pies. I am another one that hasn't made pastry for years so going to have to get my rolling pin out!
Cooked gammon in the sc yesterday, another GC inspired idea. I have to hide my head in shame when I say I have never cooked gammon before; it was delicious!
Stocked up on some BOG2F shower gel at c00p, thanks for that Rising, £2.20. Then a£das to stock up on basics like the Branson beans (5 x 4 packs), rice, pataks curry pastes (on offer), pudding rice, mixed fruit and yeast. Doubled up on everything as our A£da isn't a pleasant shopping experience so I only go when I need petrol. Not as bad as one of our local !id! Where a friend witnessed a punch up at the checkout!!:eek: Asda spend £19.18.
Also went to mr t as someone posted about super cheap basics pasta but it was back to 30p so just bought sugar and the gammon £6.54. And finally  !id! £21.81.
Total spend £49.73.
I can't believe I posted that in so much detail; if you read it all WAKE UP :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
Enjoy your evening everyoneMake £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

No. I didn't precook it. I just put the mixture into the pastry lined dish and pressed it into shape with my hand before adding the pastry lid and giving it an eggy wash to make it golden.
Guess you could grate onion in or even make it go further with a sage n onion stuffing mix. Either a layer or mixed in.
(If you have any eggs to use up, boil em and place into the centre of the pie to decorate and bulk out the slices)C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z #7 member N.I splinter-group co-ordinaterI dont suffer from insanity....I enjoy every minute of it!!.:)

Hello Craigywv - look forward to hearing from you and please don't apologise for asking countless questions coz that's how we all learn. Sometimes I didn't even know that I wanted to ask a particular question until it has been posted by someone else:rotfl::rotfl:
Thanks for the background too, I always like to try and guess whether people on here are men or women and sometimes from the name you just cannot tell.Think majority of us are of the female kind, and just wonder if there are any men who frequent this thread?

Virtual hugs to all, especially those having a tough time. As someone on another thread has said tonight - be kind to yourselves as life is tough enough.
LB xx
P.S. I've been reading with interest those posts from people with £5 off vouchers etc. Just a thought, but it seems to me that unless you really have a need to spend £40+ (i.e. it's time to stock up), then you're in danger of spending more money than you would have...isn't this what the SMs want you to do??
Sorry, not meaning to criticise, but as I say, it's just a thought.
