Well I seriously need to get 'back on the wagon'!!:o
Our baby was born on the 19th March and it seems that since then we have eaten out at the local wetherspoons more times than I can count and have eaten countless takeaways too... I appreciate that we have probably been busy and tired etc but this cannot go on.
Going to do a list tonight and get myself organised and back into money saving ways!0 -

Thanks for the c00p tip off Rising.:T I know what you mean about shower gel, getting a bit bored of the !id! cheapie. Have some m&s vouchers so might have to treat myself.
Zebbeddee, don't be too hard on yourself, I remember being sat on the sofa with our newborns, they seemed to feed continuously!
NSD for me, my 2nd of the month:o. Darn the Easter holidays!
Must tell you about our totally MSE tea tonight. Cooked oxtail and pearl barley in the slow cooker the other night, but fancied curry tonight so we've curried it on the basis that it might be similar to a meaty dhal :rotfl::rotfl:. Also made the bread pudding from page 1, oh my it is lush.
Have a lovely evening everyone!:DMake £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

I love my p cooker! It's also good for making jam, marmalade, pickles etc.
Provided the model comes with divider(s) and trivet, the individual flavours of veg do not invade each other - only half a pint of water needed (for veg), which doesn't usually touch them. So, they actually steam.
In a casserole, stew or soup type dish (no trivet/dividers), the flavours meld really well - like when you cook such dishes the day before! Mmmm!
My 30+ year-old Prest!ge Hi-Dome (parts still available on Ama*on/3bay) is probably the best bargain that I've ever bought - £12 new, back then. If you decide to buy one s/h, or get one via Freecycle, make sure the base is flat (ie not damaged by too much pressure) and that it comes with the instruction booklet. (You may be able to download the booklet - many manuals are available online, particularly for kitchen/laundry, other electricals ).
I also took mine camping! The family had a 'proper' cooked meal each evening... on a single gas ring! :rotfl:
AND, NO, I'VE NEVER HAD IT EXPLODE OR SQUIRT FOOD ALL OVER THE KITCHEN! AND I DON'T KNOW ANYONE WHO HAS. :rotfl:
Great thanks for that - I have a birthday coming up soon so will look into having one of these. It sounds very economical to run and fast as well so all good.
Never thought of the explosion thing :rotfl: - if that can happen though, it will definitely happen to me. And I've only just managed to get kitchen clean from when DS1 decided to redecorate the kitchen whilst opening a bottle of lemonade :rotfl:.

Hi All
Stuck to my meal plan this week - no extra food spends to report, but I ran out of toothpaste so 99p spent in SuperdrUg. Will update siggy.
Going back to my parents this weekend so I'll have limited food spends other than the inevitable snack food for the train (which I'll try my best to limit and buy beforehand rather than at the train station!)Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

* Japanese Spa ... my absolute all time favouritearound £2/bottle so only a very rare treat ...... now have 3 bottles of each in the cupboard and seriously thinking of going & stocking up on more tomorrow!:T (would be wonderful to have "nice" BB & SG for a while rather than the cheap stuff):)
You know you are worth it and we all think you are too! You go for it - it's not like it will go off or anything. And it so improves one's mood, a tiny bit of pampering at almost no additional cost. How lovely. :T:TOur baby was born on the 19th March
