My cooker has got the fronts of the knobs missing and the element on the grill is wonky. It is clean and it cooks though so it will last a good while yet!:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Just asked Mr F how old the oven is - he was living here before we married. He moved into this house in 1983 - the property was built in 1973/74 so could be the original one.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Hi All,
TheBees haven't been part of the Grocery Challenge for months but after noticing we'd spent over £500 on groceries last month I decided to keep note of our spends and have been doing our own grocery challenge. So far it's not been going too badly with a good trawl of whoopsied items in mrT recently and a proper inventory of things in the freezers which I'm marking off when they're used.
Will join the challenge properly in May!Mortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000
Sealed Pot Challenge 416 - target £5000 -
My cooker is a double oven jobbie - probably 20+ yrs old...broken grill, smoking ovens (doesn't matter how much they're scrubbed), but I still love it...:T
Had a small spend at Mr A's today - just potatoes, toilet rolls, tea bags and chocolate needed - £3.80 ish added to siggy as not recording anything other than food here.
What's been good about this month is that I have actually proven to myself that I'm not overspending on food. In the past few months, my GC budget has included anything I buy in a supermarket/groceries e.g cat litter, toilet rolls, wine etc. I thought I was overspending on food, but I think now that I've just been underestimating how much all these other items cost. Will need to have a good think about next month's budget, but I will be back to including everything again.
Sweet dreams everyone.

We had some basic white fish(cheap stuff) in some whoopsied parsley sauce(waitrose)with some of my dds special mash(its lush)and some spinach and carrots. For desert we had some plums defrosted from the freezer(todays cleanout)with crumble topping and the cheap 6p packs of custard(I used 2)Cost no more than £3 and served four people.
I might do a big toad in the hole tomorrow -Ive got some lovely whoopsied sausages from lidl which even dh may eat as I am trying to tmpt his appetite at the moment. Bought some pears in Mr M the other day and a bottle of cider in Lidl so hoping to do pears in cider when they ripen a bit. DD saw it in the cupboard and said "that cider tastes like P" well I agree dear girl but its fine in cooking! Somehow I don't think it will get nicked from the cupboard. Well-thats my new 18yr old drinker for you!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I got tempted to put in an order with AP tonight as they have lots of cheap sauces/marinades on the site again and they were really nice last time so as they are same brands and flavours I decided to get more. I jiggled the basket until I was within the last 200g of my weight limit for the £5.25 delivery! I did get this item for a penny which added to the weight a bit!

She then asked what was for tea and without a thought asked if she wanted to make her own pizza (bought 2 pizza bases in B&M last week). The conversation then went like this:
DD - Do we have sweetcorn?
Me - No
DD - Do we have chirizo?
Me - No
DD - Do we have pepperoni?
Me - No
So yes, you've guessed it, my cheap tea of making our own pizzas come in at the grand old total of £7.37:mad:
Should have let her buy the sandwich as would have been alot cheaper:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Im a caffeine addict but I dislike the taste of instant coffee. So I'm constantly on the hunt for ground coffee thats on offer. Waitrose has my favourite on offer at the moment so Ive stoked up on that and a few other bits and pieces.
So that's £24.26
Sx
We are fellow caffeine addicts and use !id! Gold 100% arabica, £3.49 for 500g. Wish they'd put it on a half price weekend offer!
Popped into a!di with the kids and ended up spending £3 on treats, £7 on wine (but one bottle hidden for next week) and the rest on storecupboard bits and lots of milk. A good lesson in how to waste a tenner but we are being pretty good the rest of the time.
Last night's dinner was whoopsied oxtail cooked in sc. Never would have cooked it before coming on here and it was lovely! Have got the leftovers for tomorrow night. Tonight DH is out so the kids had fishfingers and I had a cheese and onion omlette, something else I haven't made for ages.
Just wanted to say I am another panny user, had mine for 12 years and make a loaf every other day. Can't recommend it enough.:)Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

Okay so I have to update my siggy but my OH went and did a massive shop so I'm way way over budget! And, god I love him but he never buys stuff I need! So I'm putting this month as a write off, when I get him back to college I'll get a handle on this spending machine!094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250
