Thanks to everyone for keeping this thread going. I haven't updated my March totals yet as my month ends on 31st but I know it is a disaster zone. We haven't got the hang of entertaining guests staying with us and sticking to a budget. We over cater with both food and booze. It doesn't go to waste though it does cost; leftovers will be frozen and booze drunk. It is my waist line that will suffer. Next month I am going for £200 and am happy to monitor this in my signature. I am going to have a look at the fiscal fast and weight loss threads too. Some serious tightening of belts has to happen here.

Planning on having lots of NSD's good luck everyone by the way I will keep my signature updated but I hope it to be in the region of £80.

I need to get back on the Grocery thread so can I be in for April? I have set a budget of £400 (I am happy to update in my sig) which I am hoping is completely do-able. We may do a weekly shop this weekend in which case I will start then, if not we will start on the 1st.

Thanks to the lovely ladies who run this thread and to all the lovely posters!:T
  • I am a longtime lurker who finds these threads so inspiring for saving money on food shopping etc. I am on maternity leave and April is the first month where my money plummets :-( so I have decided to join in the Grocery Challenge from April onwards.

We usually set ourselves a budget of £70 pw (for Me, DH, DD (10) and DS's nappies). We have visitors in April so I would like to set my budget for the month of £300.

    Thank you :-)

Will be setting a budget of £380 for this month (1st-30th April) and see how we go with that. Will have to sort out my store cupboard and the freezer as they are looking a bit empty so a lot of pennies will go on that.

Thanks to Zippy, Rosie and Helen for their excellent work.

Oh, a brand new shiny thread - I am stunned that we are now a quarter of the way through the year nearly!

Firstly, thanks so much for all who organise and maintain this thread and thanks also to everyone who contributes. The encouragement is wonderful.

My April doesn't start until the 1st and I think I will stick with £60 as I need to stock up on a few things.

I still don't know if I have a job after the end of this week???

  • In case I needed to say my month started on the 25th :)

25th and 26th were no spend days (woo) and today I have a 50p spend to report. BUT we're making the most of the weather and going for a walk tonight which goes right past an amazing fish and chip shop...

    Do takeaways count? Lol

Bad cop says - yes - as you would have bought food for indoors if no take away.
