Had to reflect another spend. Went to sainsbugs and got toilet roll and some stock cubes : £7.58 in all. Toilet roll pack was 18 in it so works out at 36p a roll which isn't bad considering its not the cheap stuff!
OH bough us a bottle of vodka which I'm including as part of my entertainment budget, mainly because he bought it!094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250

Evening all
Have decided that i am not going to buy as much bread, as its getting STUPIDLY expensive! Surely i cant be the only person who is amazed at how expensive it is!??
I will be doing what i did a few weeks ago, which is go into Mr T's 30mins before closing time and get some baguettes whoopsied to 17p each! They do me a weeks worth of lunches each! I just cut them up into 4 portions and freeze them, then every morning i take one of of the freezer, and by lunch time its defrosted!
Great idea! :beer:Our Mr T doesnt seem to reduce bread so I invested in a breadmaker. Its currently working out at less than 30p for a large loaf for wholemeal using chippatti flour which was £3.99 for 10kg.I portion it into 500g bags and then just shove one in the machine at night before I go to bed. After 18 years refusal even DS has started eating wholemeal bread!:eek::eek: I invested in an expensive machine
(Panny) but have calculated that at H*vis prices I will start saving in about 6 months. :T:T
Happy Easter everyone - have a virtual giant Belgian chocolate egg with best wishes from me :easter_os

Leftover curry for dinner. Got to think about tea. Will try and make up the Jamie Oliver pizza dough recipe on a small trial scale.
Not sure what the fine semolina will be like in a dough so need to test it before we serve up to friends this weekend!
Shame the recipe uses cups not actual weights in the list of ingredients. I have several cups n mugs of various sizes so not sure which to use....?:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Hi JJ, a cup is an actual measurement (used more in America) and depending on what you are actually using, depends on how many ounces it is. If you just google how much does a cup measure weigh (sorry don't know how to do links) you should find a page which will answer your question.
I am like you, wish they didn't use cups in measurements and was lbs and ounces instead (oops showing my age now:o)
Good luck and let us know how you get onWhen you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:

Cheers. I've just checked my large jug and it has cups as one of the measuring guides on the side. Never noticed it before :A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Oh my word - just had to empty the whole freezer (small chest one) to get out the HM soup I fancy for lunch tomorrow which was at the very bottom:mad: and never realised how much food I have in there. It's mainly meat from DR and because it is vacuum packed it is really small so doesn't look much but had a mini meat mountain in the middle of the garage where it stood.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Pizza dough now covered over and in a warm place. Not the cheapest recipe due to the amount of olive oil, semolina, etc.
The 1/4oz yeast is actually the same as a 7g sachet of easy yeast.
I'm hoping the measurements work ok.
Couldn't fine semolina flour anywhere in tescos. Has to go to an Indian shop for mine.
Gonna make a garlic butter to smear on one of em, mmmm...
Roll on tea time!:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A
