Heres another pizza dough recipe using semolina and a breadmaker (not semolina flour though) I have made it and it was quiet good.

    http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/1052/bread-machine-pizza-base.aspx

Not sure if it will be as good as the Jamie recipe but might help if people cant get hold of semolina flour. (i found semolina in the supermarket with the desserts)

Jumblejack - a quick restaurant tip for garlic pizza bread is to bake the dough plain then take a raw clove of garlic cut in half - rub it over the pizza (cut side to the dough) and dob on ordinary butter for CBA garlic bread. saves storing the left over garlic butter too.

  • Well after the chance to visit both H0me Barga!ns and A!di today, albeit very rushed, I've gone over budget this week- already at £95 (budget = £80). However, with this and my L!dl shop earlier in the week I have loads in stock and have extra money spare as no parking/bus fares this week due to Uni holidays so should still come within my total (not just groceries) weekly budget - phew! Next couple of weeks groceries should be under budget due to large stocks though so I should still be OK for the monthly total :).

On another note, I have bought a muffin tin so am planning to add these to my newly acquired baking repertoire of biscuits and flapjacks :D. I am becoming such a domestic goddess :rotfl:. Does anyone know where you can get cheap but reasonable quality large casserole dishes (there's four of us)?

I'm going for £130 again this month. Already done 2 shops, 1 in A1d1 on Tuesday of £20.55, and today I went to Mr M's and spent a total of £59.63, but only £26.63 is included in the grocery budget, as OH got some lager and cider in the 3 for £20 offer, I got some flowers, and I also used a £5 off £40 spend voucher.

We wanted some tangerines and they had some on offer at 2 for £3, but checked elsewhere and found they had them for £1 a pack, so I put those in the trolley, but then I looked on the reduced section and they had some for 69p so swapped them, then saw some others on reduced section for 39p, so swapped again and got 3 packs of those, as they looked just as good as the most expensive ones.

  • I have spent another £69.34. I would like to think i have enough in now.
We have chicken curry from the freezer for tea, so nice and easy. All those single portions i saved now makes a meal for us all.
    Good luck to everybody else.

    Morning, you thrifty lot:wave:

Florenceem, how do you stop your wedges from sticking to the tray? Mine always seem to stick no matter what I do?

I have LOADS of pizza dough left over in the fridge. Am gonna freeze it as I want a fresh batch ready for tomorrow's movie night. Yesterday was just a trial run. Will use the UK version posted yesterday. Will probably get on much better with that!

    By the way, everyone....

B&M are selling Pizza Express pasta sauce for 49p a jar and it is the nicest sauce for pizza topping that I have EVER tried. Even better than home made. It is so thick and tasty. It is aubergine but you can't see it in the sauce. (The kids will never know!)
49p is cheaper than a decent tin of toms so why make your own when it's that good for that price?!

Thought I'd mention it here whilst we are on the home made pizza topic!!!

I have really stocked up on it as it has a decent date on. :T
