Does anyone have any ideas what i can substitute white wine with in a recipe??
I dont want to have to buy a bottle just for 3 tablespoons worth, and i cant stand white wine as a drink!
If it helps, its to go in Garlic and prawn Linguine.
What about apple juice, pineapple juice or grape juice? not everyone drinks alcohol so there must be a known replacement (thinking of countries where wine is not allowed). I bought a wine replacement many months ago and it was ok. It wasnt this one but wanted to see what was about. It is cheaper.

I do wonder when I am shopping whether people are MSE'ers or not. Maybe we should all wear a badge saying something like

NSD here.
We had HM garlic wedges with cheese/onion quiche and roasted cauliflower, mushrooms & tomatoes for dinner.
Mr F got a pack of salmon trimmings out of the freezer for tomorrow's dinner. I need to use the cream that is started in the fridge. We are out of potatoes now but I don't intend to shop tomorrow as we will have some cous cous.
Can anyone tell me where the cheapest potatoes are on sale this week please?Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Aldi:
2.5kg potatoes 69p, florenceem
I believe Lidl are doing a 7.5kg bag too this week for something like £1.69 if I remember rightly. Lidl is the cheaper option but it depends whether you can go through such an amount quickly enough?:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

My instinct is to go for the large bag - keep them in the garage. Only problem - when I get a lot of potatoes - I like to make shepherd's pie/fish pie as this uses a lot of potatoes quickly. No space in the freezer at the moment for batch cooking. This is also the time of year when potatoes don't keep so well.
