You can pretty much add anything to it you like. So yes, add baked beans, add any veg, meat, seasoning, any tins of beans you have. I love it with butter beans, or chickpeas.
Sometimes I add frozen peas and sweetcorn, but I usually just try and use up what is in the fridge. Those limp onion halves and 1/4 courgette taste amazing :TCan't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
We have visitors tomorrow so needed to pick up a few bits totaling £15.45, signature updated. This means I only managed 2 NSD which I guess is better than nothing
. Tea from the freezer tonight - chilli/sausages. I fancy poached egg for lunch, but first a mountain of ironing :A.
Good luck everyone. x0 -

Hi All
Extra spend of £1.49 on bread and 99p for Elmlea from the corner shop last night. I was feeling soooo ill yesterday evening and keep feeling freezing but breaking out with sweats, so couldn't even go to Mr S. Went to the doctors today but first had to register because I haven't signed up/been to a doctor since I moved to London 9 years a go! I NEVER get ill!
Got prescribed a dose of antibiotics and painkillers and was advised to drink lots of water, take the tablets, rest and eat well. I'm not hungry at all though which is very unlike me!Might just grab a bowl of Special K or couple of slices of toast
Hope everyone is doing better than I am. Going to rest now.Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

Get well soon NickJW
My total is standing at £278.59 leaving me £101.41 for the next 17 days. I have plenty of stuff in to make evening meals in the freezer as I am trying to use a lot of the veggie alternatives up this month. I am still buying too much though but have cut my waste down.
I did think I had 3 weekends to shop for until I checked this morning and realised it was only 2 as I get paid on the 20th:j
Mince and onion for DH and the last Linda Mc mince pie for me tonight for tea with mash and veg.
DM and DSD are coming up on Saturday so I will need to cater for them. The plan is to make a choclate easter cake, hot x buns (in freezer) and to buy a whole chicken for lunch. I have all the accompaniments in but will need to rustle something up for pud. Maybe eton mess? The chicken leftovers will do DH for the rest of the weekend if I get a big enough chuck.:)Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
I went to the hairdressers and had my fringe trimmed today (was looking like the Dulux dog
) and although they dont charge for a fringe trim between proper appointments, I gave the girl a £2 tip, so £2 spend added to my signature.
I had Lidl luxury granola (with cranberries) and their Greek yogurt for brekkie - both highly recommended and delicious.
Defrosted the last seedy roll from the freezer and had it was tuna mayo, using the last of some long ago opened mayo - and made sure I had all the seeds that were lurking in the packet....the best bit!
Made HM lasagne for tea, one for DGS and me for tonight which should have enough left for tomorrow and one to freeze.
I was making the white sauce when I happened to peer in the bag of flour.........
***shudder***
Grey and manky looking  and goodness knows HOW many times I have taken a spoonful WITHOUT looking in the bag

Lasagne had Don*ld Russ*el minced steak from freezer, frozen onion and mixed peppers (what a great deal they turned out to be now I am living alone, no waste and no running to the shop when I forget to buy it), chopped tomatoes from the 99p Store, mushrooms left over from last nights stir fry, the last of the Worstershire sauce which must have been years old, Oxos, herbs, 1/2 the whoopsied 33p carrots from yesterday, tomato and garlic puree that was languishing in the fridge door......hope it tastes as good as it smells.
Loving reading everyones posts, thanks to everyone who shares their stories :T0 -

Woke up to lots of snow this morning - I was sceptical that the weather forecasters got it right, but I was proven wrong (nothing new there, lol).
NickJW, I had to go to bed early last night because I felt so unwell, sort of fluey with a tummy ache - slept right through until the alarm went of at 7.30 and feel much better today, thank goodness. I hope you feel better soon!
My only spends today (apart from bus to work) were out of the office petty cash for tea and coffee. I like spending other people's money much better than my own, lol!31.5/1000
