Argh, moany people do my head in too! Best places to meet nice and upbeat people are via volunteering in charity shops and knitting groups (or other hobby groups). That way you meet like-minded folk who have outgoing minds and interests. They are too active and involved to have time to moan (and are often wonderful, caring people to boot).

Shame you are so far from me, you would be welcome round my house for a cuppa and a shopping expedition!

Aww Bless wish you did too, I would love to find an OS friend and shopping Pal,my friend died last year and I do miss sharing.

I have been grieving for a couple of years, first for my Son and then my friend and havent been going out much. I decided it was time I made an effort to get out more and maybe find a friend.I went to a
Pensioners Tea and chat afternoon at my local church and Oh Dear
I came away quite depressed and I must admit annoyed at all the wingeing and moaning I met. These were ladies of the same age as me and some on a lot more pension,I am on basic and pension credit but to hear the moans of cant afford this and that just left me gobsmacked. One lady told me she could not spend less than
£60 a week for food, just her,and could not afford to put her heating on. With the heating allowance, the extra £120 from the power companies and two cold weather payments , it pays for at least half my heating for the whole year.

I wont be going back there again, they could do so much to help themselves but seem to relish moaning and its just not for me. I am
really hoping someone will arrange an Old Style Meet for Telford so I can possibly meet like minded people.

I do sweet potato wedges - same recipe. They don't need so long to cook usually.

    Seventh Anniversary Combo Breaker
Updated my sig to reflect my spends.

Filled all the freezer and cupboards up with my shopping, I'll admit, My OH is not amused at having to budget his food spend now he's home for his easter break but I want to get rid of the giant electricity bill I have! :O

I think I'm sorted for most dinners now throughout the month, haven't made a meal planner but thats because I sometimes go to mums for dindins! I think the only thing I'll need to stock up is milk, bread and fruit! Got so much veggies either frozen or in the cupboard in the dark so they don't go off!

This is my first time doing this challange and I'd admit, I'm loving it!

    Of course! :D

Fried off minced steak in hot pan (no fat) - added onions, peppers, carrots, mushrooms, 2 tins of tomatoes, 1/2 tin of water, salt, pepper, worstershire sauce, garlic puree, tomato puree, 2 beef oxo's, dried mixed italian herbs and dried parsley, usually add a pinch of sugar but didnt yesterday - simmmered it all for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until it was thick and glossy.

Made a white sauce and melted cheese into it.

Layer of mince in dish, layer of lasagne, layer of mince, layer of lasagne, layer of mince, layer of lasagne, ending with layer of cheese sauce and sprinkle of extra cheese.

Baked in oven for an hour.

I prefer my lasagne thick and fairy solid (not too runny) but could easily make it thinner and it would go further.

I use pretty much the same mince base for pasta bakes, jacket potato topping, spag bol etc.

My grandson is just 2 years old and he wolfs it down and loves all the veggies in it :D

I think a splosh of soy (or balsamic maybe) would be lovely - I tend to use whatever I have to hand. The worcstershire (I spell that different everytime.....and always wrong!! ;)) has been in my cupboard for years and finally got used up yesterday!!
