Seems kinda weird to be talking about condoms but I get mine from the doctors and family planning where they are completely free! They ask you how many you want and then give them to you. Hope that helps you out.
  • Just updated signature with spends from Iceland & Mr T. have been going through some receipts analysing them & recording exactly what areas I've spent money in. Its split between meat, dairy, toiletries, biscuits & cakes, Chocolate & crisps, cleaning, fruit and veg, desserts & icecream and store cupboard. Haven't finished yet but hopefully when I do it will shed some light on where all my money goes!

  • Afternoon all

Well April GC started for me today.

Setting a budget of £250 for the month. Hubby and I have two weeks off so did a big shop today to hopefully get us through most of the two weeks with just a top up of fruit and milk.

Have spent £149.17. This was food and cleaning products, bunny food and bedding.
And a sneaky ice cream when i was at the park today with friends and kiddies. :D

Am actually happy with that. I have £100 left for top ups through the month. So should make it this month.

    Happy no shopping everyone.

Well i am going to go to morrisons tonight for my weekly shop :D - its my first one from starting the challange.

I dont think we need to much as we are away at the end of next week - and as its a business trip for hubbie (im tagging along) then it will all be going on expenses :j

Hopefully i will manage to shop without adding loads of extras to the basket - i have my list and the only thing i will buy that isnt on it will be any whoopsie mega bargains.

hi, just reading your notice and on ebay condoms are much cheaper i know thats where we get ours!! and they bags of 100 kitemarked and dated for long times . hope this helps.;)

craigywv - You might want to read this article about the most recent seizure of counterfeit condoms (unusually the batch numbers known about are listed). http://www.metro.co.uk/news/30222-customs-grab-fake-condoms

A couple of years ago there was an interview in the EA Daily Times with the Customs Officer who seized a million fake Durex. I recall they also had kitemarks and to the untrained eye they looked fine. Sometimes they even work fine. And sometimes they don't.

I also recall one batch where the spermicidal coating was an irritant. Possibly TMI for the grocery challenge. If you wanted to research the nature of counterfeit dangers there is plenty online (I'm not talking about sensationalist media reports), I am talking about evidence based on market penetration and the impact on the economy since what may appear to be a good deal typically has organised criminals behind it. Sorry if this sounds a bit moralistic but please be aware that the goods may well not be what they seem in terms of authenticity.

Thanks zippychick for getting us all set up again!

I will try for £40 again this month. Didn't quite stick to it for March, but that's because I did spend some on building up my stores (quite a lot - via App Food etc). So, should be easier in April, I feel sure.

    Good luck to everyone else!
