CherryPie how did you get on today? Really hope your boss had some good news for you on the job front.

Yum! Yum ! Just made the chicken, chorizo and bean stew off the front page. It was so easy and soooo tasty. Looking forward to trying more of the recipes.

Just spent £4.32 on carp. It's been a stressful day and I'm shattered so deserve the carp. ( keep telling myself that and I might believe it)

    2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)

I just can't believe that I eat food from this store often - my flatmate does nearly all of his shopping there when it's his day to cook! _pale_

Just glad I ate brekkie (bought from Mr S! :D) before reading it! :rotfl:
Sorry Nick, glad you managed to eat your brekkie first :)

It just amused me as they usually show the small independants on these Life of Grime type programmes and this shows that even the big guys can get it wrong.

tigerfeet2006 & NickJW There is a much much larger Mr Ts that had a serious infestation two years ago in Martle***m in Suffolk. So nuts to the Mr T spokesman - the Metros are a franchise, hence the readiness to close it down. The Big Brother of the i paper published a shocking article http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/tesco-leads-league-of-shame-on-cleanliness-1787323.html which you may want to read... or maybe not :(

Still on the March thread until the end of the month and two out of three of us are away for ten days but effectively running two houses as DS has expensive tastes and the kits to take care of and we are self catering for 7/10 days away in the beautiful Sutherland so I still need to work out an April target

OK, here I am, back after a bit of an absence and a disastrous March result. i think my daily GC fix must be vital to keeping me on track, but it is pretty time consuming (what's that you say, obsessive? No, surely not!) so it's a balance I've yet to get quite right... the old more time/less money versus more money/less time dilemma...

Third NSD of my four week month.
For dinner we had HM cheese & onion pastie with HM wedges and salad - grated carrot/tomato/red & white onions. I tossed the salad in Tarragon vinegar.

Salmon from the freezer for tomorrow's dinner.

  • Got to report a spend of £55.60 :(

But bought lots of veg so planning to do a big veg preparation session and freeze :)

How well does uncooked potato freeze? We use a lot in casseroles or as mash and it would be nice just to pop the frozen chunks in the pot :) this is how we work with carrots, swede and parsnips :)

Sorry, I don't know. I freeze all veges, but have not tried potato. I'd be interested in people's experiences, too. For some reason, I have it at the back of my mind that it's better to cook the potato and then freeze it ready for use.

I'm declaring a shop from last night at L1dl and Mr M's - it's a day earlier than I'd planned simply because today is my last day at work for 10 WHOLE WONDERFUL DAYS :T, and I really want to just come straight home after work tonight, pour a w&c and put my feet up and contemplate my freedom :T.

So food only shopping being recorded here this month and I've update my siggy. Apart from adding blue cheese for a treat, I stuck to my shopping list :j, and also added a further 8 bread mixes to my stores at 9p each as the dates were Sept...:T. I just need a lunchtime walk to Mr A's for fruity tea bags to see me through.

Not planning to food shop next weekend at all....hoping to use freezer and stores so next shop is hoped to be 2 weeks time.:A Am pleased with how things are going so far :T

Good luck & keep going everyone

    LB xx
