On behalf of the forum, I apologise to the OP. Sometimes you get good advice here, other times you are directed to the stickies, and on other occasions we act like complete !!!!!!!s. Sadly you seem to have caught us at our time of the month. Personally I think you raise an issue that is at the core of what this forum is about. However those with louder voices/post counts will prefer to disagree and argue semantics rather than the point at hand. I don't blame you if you wish to disregard the puerility here and go elsewhere. But I wish you all the best, and don't give up.One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Anyways............
It will be interesting to see the reuslts of the OPs photos - I would keep a look out ASAP - the fact that you have wnared Tesco is irrelevant really.0 -
Some things like this might just be an error, such as someone failing to remove an offer label once the offer has ended.
But there are plenty of other things to watch out for:

Tesco have franchises?
I worked at Tesco - albeit over 5 years ago - but at that time all Tesco branded shops were owned by Tesco.
Not in the UK, no.
Elsewhere in the world, they have - or are starting to, 'tinker' with the franchise model. (Most notably in Saudi Arabia, though that will only be for clothing)0 -
Oh, forgive me.
I didn't realise that every customer that goes into Tesco every day buys oranges of one sort or another.
My mistake.
Aren't you also assuming that both the oranges on offer and those that you erroneously bought cost Tesco the same amount?
1/ Tesco dont just have Oranges on offer (mis-labelled) - if they did i wouldn't started a thread on it
2/ FB pies definately cost Tesco the exact same - they just bought more of the popular fillings to gain a price break to enable a promotion
but i haven't got the time or inclination to teach you anymore about business
Go figureWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -

The issue of deliberate mis-representation is definitely in the realms of consumer rights, as to deliberately misrepresent prices is unlawful.
....,
Thanks
Its a shame some people dont recognise it as being wrong
and if it's morally wrong - it's usually illegal - if for no other reason than by virtue of final arbiter being 'a judge'When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -
Think like everything you have to read exactly what's on offer. They could be filled accidentally by staff simply making mistakes, they could be just filling the gaps in shelf with similar products. But then the out of stock stickers should be used on shelf next to offers. I've now got that I read every bogof and offer very carefully before adding the item to my basket. Takes a wee bit longer but worth it.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

UPDATE
Just for the benefit of all - the store I'm talking about is Tesco mega-store (largest) and not a Tesco Express
Tesco actually phoned me up (several times) in response to this complaint
I re-iterated exactly what i posted right here - the guy seemed genuinely concerned - i told them i dont expect Tesco to leave empty shelves when they run out of an offer - but how difficult can it be to remove the offer ticket when you filled the shelf with something else - "not difficult at all" he replied - i told him about worse case where the store had massive "end of aisle" promotion on HP sauce and filled the display with wrong size sauce (bigger bottles) that weren't on offer (they had no stock at all of offer size)
he told me that he had been in touch with the manager of the store that very day
I asked how bigger deal would it be for the manager to spew off a list of all offer line that they had zero stock of and get one of the guys to go round the store and remove those tickets until they had stock
again he agreed this and promised me he is greatly concerned and will action this to the manage with imediate effect
lets see next time i go shopping - it will be a delight to have paid the prices i'm lead to beleive i'm payingWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -
