In last 3-4 months our local Tesco seems to have a policy of labelling offers on shelves but filling those shelves with non-offer products (because they haven't got stock) which includes things like:
1/ offering HP Sauce for £1 and stacking the shelf with large HP bottles that are not applicable
2/ Offering Fray Bentos Pies for £1 and filling shelf with FB pies that are not applicable (different filling)
3/ Offering 'Stagg' chilli for £1.39 and filling shelf with 'Stag' chilli not applicable to offer
10000000/ Lost the will to post any more
This is at least careless and at most deliberate deceit
Even being fully aware of this practice, every single time i shop there I am duped into over paying for some items including today being charged £2 for £1 offer oranges - you dont need to be very good at maths to figure out how this might affect 3-4000 people that shopped there today x every day
I'm posting a complaint to Tesco about this poor practice which may only affect my local Tesco - also telling them in advance that I will be going in there next sunday with a camera to evidence this deceit to give them chance to do something about it (write to the manager of the store - or whatever it is they need to do)

When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

There are other shops you could use - if you feel so strongly why give Tesco any of your custom?
I vote with my feet. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0 -
I imagine you need the brown sauce to cover up the taste of the fray bentos pie and stagg chilli.

That's odd. When I shopped at Tesco, barely a week went by when they didn't diddle me. Every time I queried, they tried telling me that errors occur very occasionally. Utter BS. Tesco is the absolute worst supermarket for swindling customers.
I stopped shopping there a long time ago because of their dirty tactics.0 -

I do shop elsewhere for most of my stuff now
but if Tesco started selling small children into slavery I'd post about that too

One thing that comes to mind here is what would Tesco actually have to gain from doing this? The offers are shown on the shelves so your already in the store to see this.
Is possible that they have simply sold out of the products that were on offer?0 -
belongs on the vents/rants board...0

poundland do it as well they had an offer of vimto 1 litre bottles 2 for 1 so got two of the shelve where the label was only to be charged 2.00 i said hold on their on special so after ten minutes of her arguing the toss she went to check and brought out bottles that were a different shape to those on the self and said it was them that was on offerReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0

If they are doing it purpoelly then they will be breahcing misleading pricing laws.
What OP needs to show is that it happens regularly and ttake evdience. So for exmaple, take a photograph of 6-7 occasions noting the date and time - then report to your local Trading Standards.
I would be very surprised if it was deliberate Tesco policy and not just some lazy staff or staff not doing their job properly - but they could still be commiting an offence.0 -

Miss-selling offer products (e.g. Oranges labelled £1 @ £2) should nett about extra £3-4000 clear profit per day!
Bit surprised I need to point this outWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0
