Well good for you, providing that your line can actually support an <8MB connection. ISP's have been known to say that you will be upgraded, knowing full well that the line is not capable of supporting the higher speed. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
previously had 8mb with another ISP, don't envisage any problems with speed here.0

The original posters title for this thread is still AOL silver for £9.99 per month which is bit odd if they had just got AOL Platinum for £9.99 per month. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

ps.
BT can only give me 2mb line speed max, so it wouldnt matter if AOL gave me 8mb or even 20mb!
had aol for yrs now and only one problem. (that was BT, a sub station box was vandallised/arson).

Just tried calling Aol, and am currently paying £19.99 for AOL gold. I was told they cannot offer me any discount as i receive my bb through ntl (cable). If i had a bt line they could offer me offer me a discount. The guy basically told me to get a bt line. Am not very happy as have been with AOL for the last 8 years! The longest journey starts with a single step0

why not cancel aol and go with ntl BB?
or sack ntl and get a BT line?Get some gorm.0 -
I am currently in my 7 day cooling off period (having ordered the silver 2Mb £14.99 package on Saturday). If I phone them up and say I'm thinking of cancelling and switching to Sky (or even just blatently asking for 8Mb @ 9.99), will I get it? Does anyone have experience of that situation?
Also, people at thinkbroadband.com seem *very* down on aol's throttling procedures. What is the opinion of people here?0
