Have been meaning to ring AOL to change from £17.99 to lower price and finding this thread has made me get on with it.
They couldnt offer the £9.99 deal but have switched to £14.99 and they are sending a free router. Does mean another 12 months but as I have been with them for a few years and have been happy with the service it seemed ok.0 -
Can someone confirm if this is 8meg broadband for 9-99 per month?Have you got a job yet?
NO? Then :shhh:0 -
This is my first computer which we got in july 2006,joined aol for internet on the free dial up for a month.Decided to go to broadband with them, just phoned and asked if i could have the silver for 9.99 a month and they said yes straight away. cant remember what meg it is, all seems fine until about a month ago when they started dis-connecting me all the time(never sign off myself, always on-line).
The dis-connecting happens practically every day now, at any time,so phoned on tuesday to complain about it and basically the indian lady who i could barely understand, said it was either the connection leads or wires and that i needed to go to supermarket to get new ones.
I told her wires on computer were only about 7 months old and how could that be? she then told me that they lose their strength over time.
could anyone shed any light on this cause i just hung up basically cos i felt like i was being fobbed off.
I get aol error ac 3101,sometimes its a different one.
p.s. i will be trying to buy take that tickets online in morning, i am starting have nightmares that just as i am about to enter card number i hear the aol voice say goodbye and i miss out..Just to win anything would be great!!0 -

I suggest you read carefully So they said they could reduce my broadband from £16.99 to £9.99. Ask what i thought said still not as good as sky, waited while they checked something came back on and offfered me 8meg upgrade as well. Have agreed to another 12 mths with aol.
Note the reducing the broadband from 16-99 to 9-99 and offering 8 meg upgrade!!
so you can apologise now! :mad:Have you got a job yet?

Please see previous post about AOL 'technical' support...! She is referring to the actual modem cable from router to wall socket, these do build up static in the cable but this very rare, usually from cables that have been used for a long time with various old equipment. 7 months is not long enough to cause this.
Good luck, you'll need it.0
