It's not that great, but worth having nevertheless.
Sky HD is far more impressive in my opinion.

Its not an ethernet cable, its like a satallite cable. My Virgin broadband used to have a similiar cable plugged into a cable modem and that connected via an ethernet cable to a virgin router to allow wireless and wired internet connection.

As not using TV cable now, wondering if could use it to connect up the broadband in the front room using the old routers?

It's an RG6 Coaxial cable, same cable used on the TV service

If your VM broadband is still active, the's nothing to stop you moving the VM SACM (Stand Alone Cable Modem) & routers into the front room, providing the feed hasn't been disconnected in the external box on the wall outside (ETB)

If you have Sky already, I think you'll have seen most of what is available already.

It's handy to have as they have boxed sets of some programmes like "Strike Back;Project Dawn" for example.
Just one word of caution, the programmes aren't streamed to your Sky box like You Tube streams to your PC/Smart TV.
The programmes ect are downloaded to your Sky box so if you have a download limit on your broadband, you'll eat into that quite quickly depending on the programme size & if it's SD or HD.
