MSE News: Sky opens up Anytime+ service

I know ITV Player is on Anytime+ (after a fashion) and iPlayer is coming soon. Any word of 4OD or Demand 5 being added? This is a good development, but it still compares poorly with Virgin's catch-up offering (unfortunately, out street isn't cabled). There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

For anyone who's upgraded how long did it take? I signed up at lunchtime and was wondering if it would be ready for the weekend.0

Are you 100% sure? I had normal sky for years, then last year I upgraded to a plus box from ebay. To simply switch on the sky plus service (sky didn't provide any equipment or engineer visit) which was free, I was tied to a new 12 month contract.Next year we'll be millionaires!0 -

That's interesting. Did you have to do anything? My account says it's added but clicking anytime I just have the old listings page.0 -

I can assure you 100% that if you are currently in a contract with Sky, Anytime+ is most definitely a free add-on and will not tie you to a 12 month contract.0 -
Got it working. Switched my router on and off and the handshake worked.0

If so and you still don't have Anytime+capability, you might need to force a firmware update on your Sky box.
EDIT: I see it's working now. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

Does this require Sky +HD box, and not just a Sky + box?0

'Fraid so Bruce, the Sky+HD boxes have an Ethernet port and the relevant software to support the network connection.
You may be able to pick one up on Fleebay but some of the old Sky+HD boxes are not compatible either, IIRC its the Thompson boxes that are affected. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
