Hi my DD2 is 16 months old and still not walking she can walk unaided did about 30 steps at the weekend and will walk holding your hand, sofa surf etc etc
She is unable to get up from the floor unaided yet so I guess we have to wait for that?
I know everyone says not to worry she will do it in her own time BUT I am worried and unsure how to help her.
Just wanted to know others experiences of late walkers......
If you can think it........it will happen

I didn't crawl until 16 months or walk until 22 months, but otherwise ok (for example, out of nappies even at night by 18 months!). It's difficult not to worry, but some babies just take longer to get mobile.0

16 months is not a late walker. She doesn't need any help from you at all. Make the most of it: once she's truly mobile you'll be wishing that she was still where you left her before you turned your back on her.0

My bigger son didn't even start to walk until 17 months and was 18 months before he took 2 steps without holding onto anything. He had an ultrasound of his hips in case "clicky hips" had been missed but that was clear.
He was a very early talker, though, so perhaps he put all his energies into that!0 -
My first DD was a late walker, around about 16 months for cruising, like you OP, but once that had started it didn't take long.
My second DD started cruising at 7 months and by 9 months was running around like a maniac  - I remember longing for the days when she didn't walk

In my experience kids of that age focus on one thing at once - usually either learning to walk or learning to talk. Once they've got it cracked they'll move on to the next thing. Really, 16 months is fine.0

My middle child was 16/17 mth before she walked (she runs up to 7 mile a go now), while my other 2 walked at 13 month.
Dont worry.0 -
My first DD didn't walk until 16 months either, although she crawled and cruised at the 'usual' times - it was just walking unaided that took a little longer. She walked on her toes to begin with mind you so the balance part was trickier. The dr diagnosed tight achilles tendons and after a couple of physio sessions she was walking heel-to-toe properly. I really wouldn't worry yet

My 2nd child walked at 10 months, broke a leg at 12 months (still walked even with a thigh-toe cast on!) and hasn't stopped since - I know which I found easier lol0 -
mine were like that, the first never crawled, then walked at 15 monthsMy first DD was a late walker, around about 16 months for cruising, like you OP, but once that had started it didn't take long.
My second DD started cruising at 7 months and by 9 months was running around like a maniac  - I remember longing for the days when she didn't walk

like you I got the shock of my life when the second was crawling up stairs at 7 months & running around at 9
then my third crawled but didn't walk till he was 18 months
now if I'd had the second first, iyswim, I'd have been worried about the later two
I wouldn't worry yet OP, they all just do things at different paces

my ds1 was around 18/20 months, but we had laminate flooring installed at around 15 months which set him back a little.
They get there when they are ready, as long as it isnt one in a long list of complaints I wouldnt stress !Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais

DD1 Talked before she walked at 18months, nearly 19 months.
DD2 Walked at 15 months and is just getting her words out now.
They really do just concentrate on 1 thing at a time so no need to worry.
She'll do it in her own time and then you'll wish she couldn't :roftl: What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0
