There is a very real chance of the output from WM and or DW ending up in the sink before it drains away.
    .

No it doesn't. Gurgles a bit, but any spigot to waste setup will.

I didn't mean with the current trap (or replacement like the type we have both suggested) I meant with a flat trap such as that which you recommended earlier up the thread (if t wasn't you I apologise but someone did). If you still feel that to be the case we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one then. No point in arguing about it.

    Cheers

Edit: Right nearly 10.00 - gotta go and clear some drains out. Lovely.

Anyway - as it's not a new install and the installation is not subject to BC inspection then he can do whatever he pleases. It may not have a 75mm seal but I'm sure that doesn't matter to the OP.

Between us we've provided several ways to skin this cat, so I'm sure he'll get it sorted now.

    Agreed?

Can you not fit the DW over to the RHS of the cabinet under the drainer rather than under the sink?

    Cheers.

Unfortunately not as the washing machine is fitted under the drainers so the only place for it is under the sink.

I was thinking maybe a caravan waste y connector to go onto the flat bottle trap... however the hose is going to have to be made up I think.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caravan-28-5mm-Waste-Easy-Drain-3-x-180mm-Pipe-Connector-/320901099100?pt=UK_Campervan_Caravan_Accessories&hash=item4ab7322e5c

I will only need 1 of the grey hoses as my washer and dishwasher already have a hose so its just linking the y connector upto the trap.

I too forgot that you wanted the DW under the sink!

I can only see you adding another Standpipe forther along the waste pipe - perhaps in the next cupboard? Where does the waste pipe run?

If not then maybe modifying what you've got to incorporate http://www.mcalpineplumbing.com/traps/domestic-appliance-traps/1-189-twin-connector.html this will provide you with the answer.

This will not work as it has to be mounted vertically as it has an air connector in so if it is mounted sideways will leak.

Yes but not without intruding further into the space which is what he's trying to avoid.

Yes I know - thats exactly what I told him to do earlier both last night and this morning but without including a link or did you miss that? But he seems fixated with a flat bottle trap which will not meet BRs for min depth water seal IMO.

    Cheers

Sod the building regulations I need to get my dishwasher connected, if I ever sold the house I will put the existing trap setup back in. The flat bottle trap is the only solution as stated many times I just need to split the connection.

Yes it will - it will mean modifying the existing setup like I said by adding a standpipe, but will provide you with a solution ??

Ok so thats one option what about the Y connector for caravan waste I linked to in ebay. Seems a good option.

Think you'd struggle to get the existing hoses onto that - they usually have a 'rubber' end and two, side by side, would probably be too 'fat'. Cutting those ends off MAY lead to more problems getting the connections to seal..

Personally I'd go down the 'proper' route - needing to have two waste outlets on a kitchen waste is not unusual - and won't be seen as a 'bodge' if you come to sell.

Do it right - do it once. :D
