Sorry to bump this thread but I really need some sort of y splitter for the waste connector.

    Thank you.

You won't be able to buy just the top part of the ebay item - you will have to buy the whole thing. Having bought it you might just as well replace the whole trap and then you will have what you need - unless I've missed something from the earlier discussion which I admit I haven't completely read. Tsk, tsk - must do better.

    Cheers

This will take up too much room... The flat trap is fine as it removes this but I need to make the waste outlet for the washer into a double one. Need a Y connector or something.

and there is nowhere for it to go.

What you are calling a trap isn't a trap. Its the waste. The trap is the U shaped piece below it:

Replace the green highlighted part with one similar to the ebay item that you mentioned with two spigots. But buy it from a plumbers merchant rather than ebay. That will give you what you need.

Thank you but the problem is adding the part in will then add too much height to the whole assembly as the trap has still got to be fitted. Even though it's a flat bottle trap if I add that piece in then it will have too much height and be in the same situation as the current setup.

No I meant don't faff about with the flat bottle trap and the try to fit the ebay item under it I meant use the ebay item in place of the existing trap altogether.

But now I see that you want to put the DW directly under the sink (perhaps I should have read that first. I don't think the flat trap will work anyway. There is a very real chance of the output from WM and or DW ending up in the sink before it drains away.

Can you not fit the DW over to the RHS of the cabinet under the drainer rather than under the sink?

    Cheers.

I too forgot that you wanted the DW under the sink!

I can only see you adding another Standpipe forther along the waste pipe - perhaps in the next cupboard? Where does the waste pipe run?

If not then maybe modifying what you've got to incorporate http://www.mcalpineplumbing.com/traps/domestic-appliance-traps/1-189-twin-connector.html this will provide you with the answer.

Plenty of room. And as this is MSE it's the cheapest option.
Yes but not without intruding further into the space which is what he's trying to avoid.
Anyway - go to plumbers merchant and buy a Mcalpine WM11
Yes I know - thats exactly what I told him to do earlier both last night and this morning but without including a link or did you miss that? But he seems fixated with a flat bottle trap which will not meet BRs for min depth water seal IMO.

    Cheers
