it's not bad considering I was a bit 'naughty' but I was hoping for better tbh 3 days ago my scales were showing a better result but I guess it what you all say 'good or bad will catch up with you in the end' :/

I am going to enjoy a few drinks tonight and my egg tomorrow and be extra good for the next 5 days to get another 2lbs off by next Saturday :)

and thanks for a great post lfcgurly! :T
  • :(Happy Saturday everyone from a cloudy wales, got a poorly 5 year old here poor thing is snoring away on setee sniffly n grumpy:(

A fab post lfcgurly and something that rings home here too i had a crappy relationship with my dad growing up and hated life from a very very early age, sadlt its never left me and feel a failure at everything but slowly and surely im chipping away the stones and am going to be a happier mum and wife, shame ive wasted 40 years but heh ho I have so gotta get over it and stay on track, i got married 3 years ago to the most amazing man who knew me at my heaviest 27st 7lb and now im 21st 10.5lb so coming down slowly but its definetely the mindset that needs changing mainly cos we need to eat full stop :easter_ba... lol
But on the upside im 41 now and changing my life and bu66er the past ....

  • "you can't polish a turd".
Love that expression... disagree with it totally mind you. Thats a different story though.

"my point in all this is that I've finally made the decision that I don't want to be ruled by my past anymore and I want my future to be as bright as I can make it. Not just for myself, but for my husband, my mother and everyone else who has always been there for me."

Now you have the drive. The 'end goal', target, personal ambition call it what you like. When ever you wobble ( which for me seems to be in 6 weekly intervals) remember that.
I was 29 when i had my first baby and it was so much easier being 3 stone lighter (and some years younger :D) than having my second 5 years later.

Stay focused, happy and healthy, and enjoy loosing the weight, because while a bar or chocolate tastes devine, and a takeout pizza is yummy - its only yummy for the 10-20 minutes it takes to eat it.

The fear that comes with other means of loosing weight only adds more pressure, more weight and more stress..so therefore comfort eating. Weight lost through carefully thought out meal planning is lost and gone, the compliments and the smugness of buying "that dress" or "getting that pair of jeans" last far far far longer. The glee that comes with all of that can't be found in sweets, takeaways or any other form of food can not be bought. It can't be sold to you in any form of packaging. Only you have the ability to give that to yourself.
I've lost a substancial amount in the past, and I know others have too. There isn't another feeling like it.

    eh... I do waffle on.

Nicely put ShellieHolly, I very much agree with something that has been vilified by the press and that is 'nothing tastes as good as being thin feels'. And I really hate how badly the media have portrayed that saying, it encourages anorexia etc.

Food so far, gone green again, as usual!
    A for coffee/tea
    Coffee
    2xweetabix(B), yoghurt, nana, tea
    2xWM bread(B), low low spread(1/2A), bacon(3.5), coffee, curly wurly(6)

Will take soup, yoghurt, fruit to work along with some treats.

Had both A and B and 9.5 syns already. I give myself extra syns on a Saturday as I do a very physical job and it's only once a week. Probably another curly wurly and a kitkat:)

I think at our group there is nothing for being SOTW or SOTM :(

the consultant only mentioned the lady who was...

but she does a sort of raffle tickets, you can buy 5 for 50p and at end of every image therapy she gets a few out and gives the 'prizes' (which are brought there by members anyway)
I got them the last two times but won't do it again...

I've been to a couple of SW groups over the years and I believe at all of them members used to bring in a piece of fruit and the SOTW would be presented with that.

At the most recent group I went to we could buy raffle tickets and the Consultant gave a away 3 prizes each week. She did used to put a lot of effort into it. It would be, say, all the ingredients to make a recipe plus a SW recipe book.

Well, I was a naughty girl last night, I will not bore you with the details but lets just say I felt like a big fat greedy piggy afterwards! :o
...I usually stick my leg of lamb in a large pot, with red wine and herbs and let it cook slowly all day but not sure if this is such a good idea what with all the fat on it because I make the gravy from the stock in the pot? Should I remove the fat first?
I bought a gadget from Lakeland to remove fat from casseroles, it works, but thinking about it MSE-wise this would work just as well - put some water into an empty can, stick can into freezer until water freezes. Run the bottom of the ice-filled can over the top of your casserole. The fat sticks to the bottom of the can. Scrape it off and keep using it until no more fat or ice melts. re the "naughty girl" bit - me too, I'm ashamed as usual. Ok prob still within syns as was an overdose of merinque shells but still means I can't have a glass of wine on Easter Saturday night serves me jolly well right.

Perhaps if "thin" was changed to "slim" people wouldn't complain about it. Actually, "thin" isn't attractive is it, whereas slim and shapely is (well, imo anyway)

lfcgurly, that's a lovely post and now your head is in the right place you can do it. You will do it for YOU, the most important person in the world.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

what annoys me is that the article saying that comment is pro-anorexia will usually be juxtaposed with a heavily photoshopped photo of celebrity on a photo shoot/the beach looking fantastic and a size 0 with flawless skin. those pictures contribute WAY more to eating disorders and womens flawed sense of what we should look like than that one sentence. *sigh*
