Evening all and big well done to all you losers. Hugs to those in need and motivational vibes sent your way :A

I have finally made [just eaten] the Hairy Bikers Chicken Korma from their Hairy Dieters programme and it was LUSH :T:T. It was a bit of a faff getting all the ingredients together and still have loads left of things like natural yog etc as you only needed a small amount but I don't mind cos I can make even more :rotfl:. Ok it wasn't exactly SW friendly but I made it as low syn as I could by using less oil and low fat cream as well as sweetener not sugar etc. Anyway I would thoroughly recommend it and will definitely have it again. In fact I was just discussing whether to make a veggie one next time but hubby likes his meat so might just add some ready cooked stuff to his and have all veg myself.
Feel a gain coming on this week as * any day and not been completely on plan. Back to work and normality next week so hopefully back to plan.
Good luck everyone and keep the faith :A:A
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Stef - i hope it all works out with your son. he might be one of those that just genuinely cannot have that stuff in the house. going cold turkey on it might force him to seek out other SW snacks and get used to those instead.

can you really put weight on from eating too much fruit?

yup! fruit has a sugar content and has more calories in than veg. some fruits are better than others and if it is fruit v chocolate then obv eating the fruit will be a million times better for you but if you do eat alot of it, it can make you put on purely because of the sugar content in it. It also adds up over a day and if you view it as an eat as much as you like food and really do eat loads you can end up eating quite a few calories from just fruit. If you struggle to loose, make your SF all or nearly all veg and not fruit. eg one cup of cucumber gives you 10 calories, one cup of orange gives you 80. for comparison 1 quality street is about 40 cals.
  • Ok so that's the supermarket done - fridge full of only SW food and I'm ready to cook tomorrow.

Someone's organising a bootcamp with a personal trainer and I've signed myself up for it. Also going to try zumba again within the next few weeks as BF is nagging me to go with her.

Glad to be ending the day on a positive note after all my moaning today. Thanks to all who read and I don't blame the ones who didn't!!!!

Thank you to all the lovely replies and right now i feel like kicking son to the moon, he has lost 3.5lb this week  So now i look like one of those gloaty ladies with the 'well he had a pork pie out the fridge while i werent looking, extra pack of crisps ontop of his treat allowance, then the chocolate bars he snaffled'

All though i am pleased its a loss im not happy knowing what he has eaten, so think i will try some extra speed recipes next week so i can keep ontop of the damage limitation and he is only a couple of pounds off his official stone award, although consultant did tell everyone tonight that in 10 weeks he has lost 1.5stone with us starting a couple of weeks before joining.

For me i did slightly better with 2lb this week so going to look over the meals we have had this week and try to incorporate similar ones next week to help things along.

I did read but you'd gone shopping by then. Hope you remembered milk?;)

Infuriating stef but well done all the same (and on your own loss of course)! I think I'd be trying to encourage your boy to eat SW friendly snacks. Teenagers love snacking, they have hollow legs! Would having his own snack tin (based on when it's gone it's gone) work for him? Would he like something like chicken drumsticks in a barbecue sauce or a salsa type dip with bits of cut up veg? I like eating cold, new potatoes (especially when they're sitting in the fridge suppose to be for a meal tomorrow:)). I don't have a very sweet tooth but I know I'm more likely to eat fruit it if it's ready cut up. I also enjoy a big bowl of frozen berries (defrosted) with sweetener and a big dollop of 0% Total all stirred up so it turns pink!
  • Well done Stef but understand your worries. Having watched the way my friend (who has lost over 8 stone) eats I see that some people can really eat so much more than others and still lose the weight. His plate was jam packed every meal he ate with us and on a two week holiday he put on 1lb - the following week (this week) he lost 4lb.

Then there are others, like me, who even when I follow the plan to the letter (and this is exactly why I can't stick with it long term), it makes absolutely no difference at all. I'm not a saint and I am the first to admit that I don't stick to it and it's down to the fact that I get so despondent and don't see any results when I do stick with it.

I'm trying to change my way of thinking but it's not easy.

Maman, I don't drink milk so didn't need any LOL but thanks anyway.

everyone was raving about the new mag in class last night saying it has gorgeous recipes in it (autumn/winter is my favourite time of the year so this makes it even better :D)

i picked up a copy of the mag, along with EE meals in minutes, and the dessert book aswell... going to meal plan along side work today since im going out with a friend tonight for dinner to a GORRRRRRGEOUS bistro in comber (beside mr T for those who know it)... i used to work with the head chef and the general manager before they left my last place, so i dont feel awkward asking for the odd slight change to what im choosing (his sister does SW and hes used to regular customers coming in after WI aswell)

any craic for this weekend? i for one plan to take it easy and maybe try and catch up with my cousin before she emmigrates to Oz with her boyf (if everything goes smoothly and the way they intend, we wont see her until 2013 christmas time...no doubt engaged :))

    right so, plan for today

B: wedge of pineapple, Herbal Tea (same one as yesterday)
L: TBC probably salad so i can use my syns later

ETA: had vegetable soup and a 1/2 slice of w/m bread (HEB) with a scrape of butter (1 syn) and a rocky road SW bar (1/2 HEB)
D: the little bistro with the green sign in comber beside mr T

S: watermelon, pineapple, herbal tea (and maybe some carrot sticks in the pm)
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

Thanks Maman, a snack tin of my sons own i dont think would work. The bits he has half inched out the fridge werent even mine to start with, its my sisters picnic bits that she has left here while she were out for the day!

When we dont have company i only buy a multi pack of crisps for the pair of us with either 6/7 packets in so there should be enough for the week and then the same with the dairy milk little ones, a 6 pack to spread out over the week but these are kept in my bedroom so he has to ask for them. He is fine with mugshots and the likes to have as snacks and he knows what he can and cant have its just that the minute i leave him at home he goes on the rampage. I do think though after the chat and WI last night we may have turned a corner and he has gotten his head back in the right place. Todays a new day so lets see where it takes us.

Not decided what we are eating today as waiting to hear from sis what her plans are so i can sort out around that.

Hope you have a lovely meal Fluff.
