I haven't stayed to my new group yet, but it's such a shame about your group. My old consultant was really good and inspiring with different theme each week and ways of motivating us. I might have just been lucky with her, as others I've found not so good. Can you think of anything you could suggest to make it more enjoyable?

Yes! We had a different consultant for a few weeks and one week we were pushed for time (taster evening) so she apologised and suggested that rather than going round the whole group of about 25 people (well that's who stayed anyway) we'd have a change. She suggested people who were either bursting to share something with the group, had a problem or pass on a great tip should raise their hand. About 6 people did and they all made great comments and was far more interesting than listening to 25 people saying "I'd like to lose a pound next week" (because they have to say something.)

Just wondering if there was a subtle way to tell your consultant you guys need something better in group... I just think that you are all paying good money to get support and if you go home not feeling motivated and supported then something is clearly wrong. Or at least that's my opinion :o

This week i put on the 1.5lbs I lost last week:mad::mad:. So much for mitigating the effects of the baking for the village show....

But yesterday my throat started to hurt and to be honest I feel pants - I just want to go to bed! I feel all shivery - and the constant rain isn't helping!

Still the weather is encouraging me to make some soup..

    Morning folks,

Fluff - Hope you're feeling better today and don't worry about your friend - might be frustrating now but if you're doing everything right you'll get there.

Zippy - that's a good tip, would never have thought of taking a bacon butty in my bag but it's a great idea!

Psych & Schumie -well done, great losses!

Shellie- Well done, you'll definitely get the half next week ;)

Pennylane - Try not to get disheartened- sounds like your inch loss is massively outweighing (no pun intended) what is showing on the scales. It's a shame when people don't stay to class - probably only about 1/3 of our class stays (always the same people) and it is worse since it's on a Monday and we've had 3 bank holidays since I started. the class still runs as normal but only a few people stay. I do think a bigger turnout makes for a better atmosphere, but if you could find a subtle way to make a suggestion to your leader I'm sure others would thank you for it.

CY - hope you feel better soon

Back in work today, weather all over the place again so didn't know what to wear! Definitely walking in tomorrow (as going out straight after work) so need to know exactly what the weather's doing! Still having an odd week foodwise, so indecisive. Tried to plan some meals yesterday but just couldn't think what I fancied or what day to have. Ended up having jacket spud and tinned spaghetti for tea instead of stir fry, so might have that tonight, although that could all change! Still keeping the syns down for tomorrow night and have managed so far but have a bit of a feeling of dread for Monday's WI already :(

Anyway, enough doom and gloom! Probably green today:
    B: Bran flakes (B), milk (A), banana
    L: L/O chilli & rice, salad, nectarine
T: Quorn stir fry and noodles- might chuck some prawns in (B)
    S: Shape yog, Rocky (5.5)

Have a good day folks :)

  • If you are finding your "image therapy" boring - say something, or suggest something to spark things. It is the consultants role to inspire you. Taster evenings are all well and good but get boring equally.
As we don't have our own consultant yet I've experienced the good and the bad. The group therapy fails if no one is in the mood to talk. It needs a "down to earth" gal to get the gossip going. Not just about weight, it's about sharing ideas. So if stuck - raid the forum knowledge and get the gals talking. No one wants to be the centre of attention, I certainly don't - but I don't mind sharing my (the threads) tips every week, bargains in the supermarkets, new menu things.
50 shades of grey provided many a giggle for "Body Magic" discussions.. :D

I got back from WI last night and hubby had made SW burgers, wedges :Twith Cabbage:( and Spinach:( as a superfree.. I confess to completely ignoring the superfree!

    Fluff hope you are ok.
    Blodwen - I hope so - soooo frustrating. :D

Todays food experiement is currently setting in the fridge - I will report back soon! Also making a breakfast quiche to use up ham and such, and banana..muffins??? maybe not sure to use up the blackening naanaas!

    Morning all,

Well done losers - you're all doing great; CY - hope you feel better soon.

It's another cold miserable day here so yet another pot of soup on the go today. Roasted red peppers & tomato today; So far I've made lentil soup & carrot & coriander this week. I love soup as it really fills me up and is a v easy way to get my superfree in.

Speak to you all later! x

Well done all the losers. Thank you for the continued support. shellieholly I am taking your advice and working on making my choices the right ones :)
I now have DH trained not to make me cups of tea or coffee with milk unless it comes from my allowance. Just need to train DSs and DD. I am lucky that they are so helpful but I now realise that was one way where I was having too many syns.

I am delighted to have found out that despite all my syns at the weekend I have lost 2lbs this week. For the next week I am going to try to have fewer syns or to at least spread them about a bit.

I very nearly fell asleep during Image Therapy - it was yawningly boring.:( I honestly don't know how much longer I can sit there listening to the same old stuff.

This must sound very negative to some people but believe me, I have always stayed behind for this because it is a 20 mile round trip for me and to just go and get weighed and drive home again seems a waste of time. I stay and try to be positive and so on but it's getting hard! If there's a taster evening I always make something nice so I do try.

I would estimate that less than a third of the people who weigh in actually stay to what could be a really good session. I want to go home feeling inspired and enthusiastic but I don't. :(

Week on week the format is the same - go round every single person in the group, announce how much they've lost (or gained) ask them what they'd like to lose next week and what will stand in the way of this happening. Then the awards and finish up with the raffle.

thats the same as our group! our consultant TRIES her best, and she is enthusiastic, but its the same layout every week, and we spend the better part of an hour covering the same stuff. i have to say though i reaaaalllly dont like the 'lets go around and tell people if youve lost or gained' bit... if you've gained its not a particularly fun thing to sit through.

im feeling better thankyou blodwen and shellieholly :), managed to eat some dinner last night, not officially SE though, more EE i reckon spaghetti & meatballs & h/m tomato sauce) with HEA cheese.

Today is WI (rather nervous), had banana and cup of herbal tea so far, but have no idea what i want for my lunch yet...dinner after WI (5.30 class) will probably be soup of some description as it is rather nippy here(yet strangely the sun is shining :rotfl:).. or maybe something from the new mag :D
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

Know what you all mean about every meeting being similar. Yesterday was only my 3rd meeting,it could have been a repeat of the week before!
I din't loose anything:mad:,didn't gain either so could have been worse. Was told maybe I wasn't eating enough. I'm full. How much more does she want me to eat.
Congrats to all of you who are doing so well. Maybe I'll loose next week.
