Thanks everyone all great tips. I like the one day at a time tip and i am trying to follow (in the past a ruined day meant a ruined week and i am definitely in a different place mentally now.)

My friend is on SW so gave me an essential list and funnily enoughly mugshots were on it and i had one at 5pm today. I've never hungry at that time but it saved me at work from snacking on something bad.

My vice is wine so fortunately i don't get a craving mid afternoon for that! I am luckly (well unlucky as currently TTOC) that i don't have children so no cakes, chocolate, biscuits, crisps etc in the house to tempt me. Just Alpen bars, Shape yogurts and more eggs than you can throw a stick at!

  • Be honest with yourself, true to yourself. If you lie to you about what your eating, and whether it matters - who else will know but you..and your waistline.
I second all the other advice, work through the stuff you have but don't replace it like for like. Staples in my cupboard are pastas, rices, chopped toms and passata and the much liked/hated scan bran. In the fridge mince, chicken, eggs, peppers and milk. One will never go hungry now I am on SW

I just wondered if you had one tip for success what would it be?

ignore everyone else's journey. don't compare how you did to the woman who lost 5 pounds this week whilst supposedly getting drunk on wine, washing it down with late night curry and following with hangover breakfast. you'll just drive yourself round the bend if you do, spend all week worrying about doing it "right" and loose faith in the plan when all you lost was a pound and didn't even go near the wine aisle in tesco let alone drink it. we've all been there at some point and it doesn't do any good. i've had what i thought were good weeks and only shifted half a pound (then converesly i was one of those women who went to a festival, drank my own weight in pimms, ate far too many noodles that had been stir fried in oil and fresh doughnuts and had my best loss in a good long run :o:A)

following on from that is find your own way. what works for one of us can be another's worst nightmare but as long as it works for you, thats fine! and don't be afraid to change how you do things as you go on, what worked for me when i first started isn't the same as what works for me now.
  • Morning Folks! :j

How are we all doing today. Off out in a bit so it's going to be a long stressful, kid whiny day for me. Breakie was weetabix warmed with hot water smoothered in yoghurt and strawberries. Very nice.
Apples, Rivita and such packed for snacking/lunch. Going for a milk free day today... plenty of green tea and water. Weigh in tonight. I had hoped so much for a 2lb loss to take me to my 5 stone award.. I've stuck to plan, rigorously staying beneath 10 syns, but perhaps (Thanks to the wii-weighing) that one will have to wait till next week. :o

    Morning all,

First time I've posted on here from my phone so apologies if it makes no sense! Am on a day's leave as got a couple of people coming round to do things on the house. Weather is horrendous so think I'll be staying in - was going to do some DIY but OH is on at me to clear some space on the Virgin box after it got to 'critical' at the weekend, do might just watch tv to make him happy ;-) will plan the meals for the week too.

Still feel a bit on edge food wise - considered succumbing to cake in work yesterday (every flipping week seems to have a birthday or similar :( ) but got through it, mainly because I'm going out in Friday too and if there had been a blip yesterday it may well have turned into a 's*d it' week. I think that's the one tip I'd give - keep thinking about why you want it and how far you have come. It's easy to put that out of your mind when you are going off track but it has helped rein me in on more than one occasion.

    Anyway, green today-
    B: scrambled egg, pitta (B), milk (A)
L: l/o soya chilli & rice, cheese (B) salad, nectarine
T: quorn stir fry & noodles
    S: freddo (5)

Have a good day all x

well today my body has decided to betray me and have a dodgy tum day.. even the sight of the bosses coffee and biscuit (which i give him) is repulsing me. havent eaten anything yet as a result but i have grapes and a banana with me in my drawer when i can face opening it that is lol!

i have to plan plan plan otherwise ill get lost in a big heap. I found myself inwardly comparing myself to my friend who joined SW about a month after me and has lost over 2.5st whilst constantly eating all the bad takeaways that smell yummy (CFC, chinese, pizza etc) very rarely sticking to plan, and gorging on sweets from aunt sandras (old style sweet shop where you can do tours) and she never has gained or maintained - always lost. for ages that really annoyed me, because i kept thinking why should i bother? but i look back at family photos from christmas and i realise why i bothered. because inwardly i didnt like the size i was, the shape i was or anything. though with the job i had(manager in a hotel) i was very active it was irrelevant because i was eating when i could - we didnt get a proper uninterrupted break, you ate when you had time. now its slowed to a trickle because im not as active as i was due to changing jobs(when in the hotel i walked the full belfast marathon without training because we walked so much in work)

but im back on the straight and narrow and hopefully can regain some form of momentum and be where i want. in an ideal world i dont care what weight i was if i was the size i wanted to be, but i take each day at a time and eventually i'll get there!..i just have to be uuber good in december when i head to NY for a week, though i intend on walking everywhere so hopefully that will help :D

ooohh sorry for the essay ladies lol i didnt realise it was rather long :o:rotfl:
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

I went a bit off plan yesterday as I ate out at lunchtime and in the evening. So I am going to presume the worst and guess at 45 syns.

We ate at a Tapas place where I chose bean salad, Spanish tortilla and salad. tried to make the best choices.

The next few days will need to be syn free to even it out a bit.

    Today:EE
apple and banana with my cuppa when I woke up.
B; porridge made with water (HEB)
    L: SW veggie soup
D: Spag bol with lean mince with added celery, carrot, peppers, soya mince and pasta
Fruit and sugar free fruit jelly
    bedtime: fruit

HEA will be 250ml semi skimmed milk in tea and on porridge
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

We are having a new fridge delivered on Saturday (A large fridge with no freezer to accommodate all the fruit and veg we find ourselves with) and I know from previous experience what a nightmare it is to be fridgeless just for a day. I suppose I will have to but stuff on the day just before we need it unless we have a completely green day with no meat. Anyway, weigh in tonight, I am sure the slimming world scales are different to my scales because I am always a lb or so heavier at SW than at home. I am hoping to have reached my 2 stone tonight. I really need a good girl sticker on my book. I like getting stickers :)
