We are a couple plus two kids (plus married son and DIL at the weekend). My bill works out at the equivalent of GBP190 per week. That's for everything including toiletries. I do buy extra fruit and veg in the week, probably adding another GBP60 to the bill.
Just interested to know how it compares with the UK.
I have been trying to cut down a bit on my weekly shop lately but still end up spending around £100. Thats pretty much everything as we only drink skimmed milk so I get all I need for the week to save "popping to the shop" cos I can never just go for milk! It's just the two of us and I think it's a bit high but it's so difficult to cut down.
Well done on getting into your skirt,I'm so glad your back to it cos you've done so well. x0 -
congrats to all of you!
Works night out tonight! We are going to a place with a non-Slimming World friendly menu:(:(. I have decided to cycle there - I will therefore not be drinking. I have not ordered a starter - I will fill up on soup (homemade lentil - syn-free) before i go. I have not ordered a pudding. I have preordered steak and am hoping I will have the courage to leave the chips and just eat the salad.
The rest of today is -
B- porridge (B+ A for milk) strawbs, rasps, bluberries, banana and 2 fresh apricots
L- Chicken + salad
S - h/m lentil soup
T - steak, salad chips:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Sorry, forgot to say a warm welcome to all newbies, stick with us were all in the same boat. x0

ANYONE KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENED TO DIZZY? I really miss her cheery posts x0

Wow CY that's definitely a plan! Well done you and you know what even if you do decide to have a few of the chips, you haven't got any other syns in your plan so enjoy them as a one-off.Mediterranean Mum

Morning All :hello:
Another dreich day here today after yesterdays sunshine. I was good again last night, had a rocky caramel out my syn box with SF diluting juice.
Boy did I get a shock this morning, discovered that the weights used in the shred are 5lb!!!! I know these people are professional fitness people so wouldn’t jump right in there. My “weights” were 2 tins of plum tomatoes @ 454g!!! I got some at Argos last night, so started this morning with the 1.5kg.:eek: Sore arms :rotfl:
I got my actifty last night at 7.40pm so not had a chance to look at it
Am I correct in saying Rocky Caramel is 5 syns & Ordinary Rocky is 5.5?
Todays EE Plan:
B- Frozen Berries, melon, Alpen light (1/2 HEB)
L – Mexican Bake (A) Salad, Strawberries, melon alpen light (1/2 HEB)
D – Undecided, thinking nice steak tonight with new potatoes & veg
S – Raspberry muller, banana, nectarine, large plum:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T

On an average week we spend about £60 for 2 adults and 4 cats - the cat food and litter makes up about £15-20 of that. Sometimes we do a midweek top up of about £20. That's from Asda and includes most toiletries etc but I would try and shop in Aldi or Lidl more - usually depends how much I can reign OH in since as I said earlier I'm a serious tightwad and he likes Sainsbury's and 'proper brands' *sigh* - I blame it on him being a Southerner :rotfl:Mediterranean_Mum wrote: »Well done TIE - keep up the good work.
Had a bit of a NSV this morning - got into a size 20 M&S skirt. It's an elasticated waist but it went over the hips which considering I've been wearing 22 or 24s for the last however many years is a good sign.
I'm not getting on the scales until August 1st and I don't feel any lighter but as I have so much to lose maybe it needs to be quite a large number of kilos off before I do feel it.
Well done, that's a great achievement! Any difference in clothes is a great feeling - try and hang onto it and use it as motivationI don't feel much different at all after losing almost 2.5 stone but have got into one pair of smaller (still size 20 but from a slightly smaller shop!) jeans, and I think if you have more to lose it does take a certain amount before it becomes noticeable and also before each successive loss can be seen.
Great losses TIE and Watchit, well done!
EE today:
B: Scrambled egg, pitta (B), milk for day (A)
L: Chicken & bacon salad, nectarine
T: Pasta and roast veg, poss soya meatballs (1)
S: Mini milk (1.5), pineapple
It's the pub crawl tomorrow  am a bit worried if I'll survive! Have been saving syns, having had since Tues 3, 5, 1.5 and 2.5 today if all goes to plan. Will see you on all on the other side, if I make it! :rotfl:2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]
2012: [STRIKE]Start renovating new house (aka open enormous can of worms)[/STRIKE] _pale_
2013: [STRIKE]Lose weight[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]get fit[/STRIKE] and FINISH THE HOUSE!

Thats a good plan.:):T I personally would have the chips (or a few at least) as you have cycled to work, avoiding starter, dessert & alcohol. The cycling will help you burn off the chips enroute home .
