Had another bad week - I'm getting really fed up now and so close to giving up, 1/2 lb on this week, last week only lost 1lb and the week before only 1/2lb, so that's a grand total of 1lb over 3 weeks. I have written it all down for the last 2 weeks and have stayed within my syns everyday some days as low as 4 or 5. I wouldn't mind if I'd eaten cake / chocolate been out for a meal or drinking etc :(. The only thing suggested at group is I may be 'in a food rut' so I'm off to study the books.......

Maman - sorry if my post was unclear, I have been doing SW since March its just the last 3 weeks it seems to be hardly working for me. Someone did mentions posting menus on here helps so might start to do that.

Medmum - I did wonder if I wasn't having enough syns but I also cannot understand why you should have them if you dont need them. If I have fruit in the house I'm more than happy to snack on that and once I allow myself to eat chocolate etc its hard to stop. But thinking back in some previous weeks I've had cake and odd day at work and still lost so there could be something in it.

    hi there PS71

Sorry to hear you are so fed up, please dont give up tho,

a year ago last nite (well it was monday 4th july 2011) i walked into my local SW group and weighed in at 18.1

i have now lost 6 stone 3lbs to take me to target weight (11.12):j

i have had the slow weeks too, in march i was SOTM, loosing over half a stone...in april...i lost a pound in the whole month

i would say DEFO use the syns, thats what they are there for, cutting back on them NEVER boosted my losses,

drink plenty of water, or NAS juice,

plenty of body magic, on a daily basis if you can,

lots of super speeds and super frees,

try success express for a few days a week, alternative days,

stick with it, it does work, dont let it get you down,

    i have a few rules i stick to -

    - i will not waste syns on anything i can get for free, eg yoghurt, soup, meat, soft drinks, etc,

    - dont deprive yourself,

    - plan ahead,

    - use your syns

    - only take HEX from the list (i am gobsmacked at the amount of people who say, i had a pancake for my HEX today...pancakes etc is a syn!)

    and please dont give up:A

    you can do it,

how much in total do you want to loose, are you near target maybe? if so its just your body fighting back, trying to hold onto the pounds :rotfl:

    good luck:A

Well done Piglet, that's fab :j. I have weigh in this morning, I have been feeling really rubbish these last few days, felling sick and what feels like bruised ribs but I will still go and get weighed, not sure if I will stay for the meeting though.

Good luck to everyone else who is getting weighed today.

Excellent Piglet - so proud of you.

    thank you so much Medmum,

the hardest thing about trying to maintain is trying to get in the extra food

i am finding it really hard to manage the extra HEXs, i have had the odd cup of hot chocolate made with milk, and extra toast,

i have upped the syns to 20 a day,

tho this week i am going to cut back again, as i would rather be target MINUS a pound, than target PLUS a pound :D

Well done Piglet - what a year! Could you have imagined this time last year how far you would have come?

I need people like you to give me the motivation to keep going... my target is to lose 6st 6lb which will take me to 11st 7lb. I have lost 3st4lb so far and so want to keep going but like others I have slow months and think I'm never going to get there.

    Morning all,

Piglet, you are an inspiration, and it's great to have someone here to give us little tips on both losing and maintaining :A Well done MedMum on your 100% day, you're doing great! Well done to the losers, and welcome NikNok :)

1lb off for me this week - am happy with that as this must easily be the longest period of losing every week - long may it continue! Total of 2st 2.5lb now and would love to get 2.5 stone award by SILs wedding - 2 WIs left before then so it's doable. Going to up the exercise and see if that helps. Walked home in the rain yesterday (yep, predictably it poured down for most of the 70 mins it takes me to get home!) but after a few mins the lethargy I had felt disappeared and I enjoyed it - if it wasn't so warm the rain would have been quite refreshing. Anyway, had to drive in today as a friend is coming for tea and then we're going out to a concert so time is short, but tomorrow and Thurs I will be walking, come rain or shine!

    EE today:
    B: Bran flakes (B), milk (A), banana
L: Salad with sliced turkey, a few new potatoes, feta cheese (4) and olives (1.5), nectarine
T: Probably mushroom risotto and salad, subject to consulting with friend!
S: Strawberries, cherries, WW yog, caramel Rocky (5)

Have a good day all :)

    Morning all

Long time no post - had a horribly stressful last 3 weeks and we finally laid my brother to rest last Friday. I am not expecting things to be easy in the next few weeks and I have already found that i have little motivation to do anything and my short term memory has been awful. I guess because my mind is worrying about everything else going on :(

My parents were not going to initially press charges against the hospital but they have since changed their mind about this - i guess it will be a lengthy process though. I nor my family want their money but we do want some justice for my brother..A lot of things have come to light since he died and somebody is accountable for his death. :(

Anyway i am trying to "get back to normal" and get back on SW so my menu for today is -

Breakfast - 2 peices of WW danish brown toast , spread with extra light philli cheese - (hex a & B) and 2 slices of turkey rashers

Lunch - mushroom cous cous ( half packet 1.5 syns? can someone confirm this for me please as i cant remember??) with chicken chunks, mushrooms and chopped peppers

Dinner - omelette made with sweetcorn & tuna , SW sweet potato chips & a side salad.

Snacks - melon, pineapple & a mint muller light yoghurt. Think i will leave off extra syns today as i have eaten my body weight in cake this past week

Good to see you posting again rainbowfd. I'm sure we all feel for you at this dreadful time but I'm sure trying to take up the reins of 'normal' life has to help. I checked Ainsley's mushroom couscous and that's 2.5 syns for a 100g pack (not using butter or oil to make up of course) so you may have used fewer syns than you thought.

:drool::drool: mm, your menu for today looks amazing, especially the dressings. Good luck.

You're doing so well piglet, well done:T I must admit I haven't even read the target members booklet yet or the new section of the website. My problem has been keeping at target and not going below so I've been ignoring some official advice and adding in extra treats although I suppose some cheese sauces and the odd bit of extra bread for a sandwich would count as HEXs. I find that after a year of eating SW friendly food I just don't look for much else. However I was convinced I put on last week on holiday so I've been trying to be good this week and sticking to plan. I may have to go to WI tomorrow as might be busy Thursday but all I want is to know how close I am to target so I can work from there.

    Today's (EE) menu:
B: kippers, HEB wholemeal roll, HEA milk for teas
L: not sure but will probably be melon and roast chicken (need eating up). I may just pick at it until I've had enough!
D: pork with peppers (and onions, mushrooms and beansprouts) with potatoes (SW roast?) and cabbage.
Syns: some orange juice, sherry and cornflour in the pork sauce but it's DH's favourite and won't be too synful when shared.
