  • Thank you for all the advice since my post yesterday. Am trying loads of super speed and no carbs with tea. However off to Scarborough for the weekend. Husband wants me to chill and not follow it at all this weekend. Want to have a fish with mushy peas but know it will be hard to have sin free. Taking bananas with me. Any other tips?

    Hubby has a point :D

i have had my biggest results after major blow outs, (and still have managed to loose 6 stone 5lbs and get to target in 11 months :j:beer:)

the secret behind it, i think, is to have your treats, have your holidays (a 5lbs loss), birthdays (3lbs off), xmas (1.5 lost), anniversay (5lbs loss) etc....but when they are over, get straight back on it, get back on the plan,

i am just back from 5 days in my caravan at the seaside, and i had chips and ice cream, tho i walked for miles, got a 4lb loss this week,

dont torture yourself, you have to live too, SW is meant to be something you can do for the rest of your days,

i have never give up my chinese take away, or my nights out, but i still got there,

    you will too :A

good luck and enjoy the break,

take lots of fruit, and cereal bars for your HEX, or try and do without both HEXs and save them 12 syns for treats (i dont have breads or milks on Sat and these 12 syns go towards my chinese)

Just had a small piece of chocolate cake - not sure on syn values so am taking it as 14 syns (as used 1 this morning) and will change my dinner to something that's totally free, and skip the choccie pot & malteasers.

It was only a very small slice so i don't feel too guilty about it. It was deffo worth the syns anyway

ETA - Its also cookie Friday today as well, and haven't had the urge to have a cookie so far. I havent been thinking about them at all which is good. :)

Jill - I often have to take my elderly Mum for fish and chip lunch because she loves it! Last time she had her fish and chips and I just ordered a fish cake and the girl did me a salad with it, which was lovely. The owner said he would always do me a bit of fish without batter if I preferred. It estimates in my book that a f & c shop fishcake is 7 syns.

I think there's some truth in this. I know a man and woman who have lost 5st and 3 st respectively on SW(they do it at home though). They do it 6 days of the week religiously but every Saturday they go and have an Indian curry. That would be too often for me once a month would probaly do me.:)

 hello, thanks for the welcome!

Great loss G&B, there are some fab losses on this thread. All inspirational!

I'm just catching up with Secret Eaters - shocking!! I understand what you all mean now! Maybe a lot of people don't know about nutrition and good and bad fats etc but i think if you're having 2 takeaways in a day then you know why you're the size you are.

Hp - if I get the recipe for the choc pots next week then i'll post it up so we can all enjoy. I think it worked out at 3 syns each, but it tasted like a lot more..

Hi Med mum, sorry to hear you're struggling x.. could you start up your own "class" in your area of a few of your friends that you feel comfortable with?

I'm on a green day today

B - porridge (3) made with milk and water, apple
L - cheese and potato pie (3 and HEA)
T - 180g gammon(HEbx2) and SW chips with pineapple and salad
    S - strawberries, milk (HeA)

I'm leaving the rest of my syns for later just incase i fancy something to nibble on, i'm hoping that tea will fill me up though!
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

Hi everyone - I'm back from my work trip to Cornwall Show (shudder)..." Come down to sunny Cornwall" they said, "it's beautiful" - pfft. It took me 9 hours to drive down on Wednesday, got soaked to the backside before 8am on Thursday then froze all day at Cornwall Show between speaking to clients and nipping outside to repair our wind damaged marquee. I finished up on the showfield at 6.30pm and drove back as far as Tiverton then did the final 5 hours + back today.

SW wise not too bad, could have been much worse:
Wed - breakfast at home (mullerlight + alpen light); lunch - bag of mixed lettuce leaves, small pack cooked chicken & small pack king prawns from M&S at service station; snacks in car - fruit + alpen light bar; dinner - (set menu no choice) asparagus spears (passed on the hollandaise sauce), shepherds pie with veg (asked for small portion), meringue nest with strawberries and whipped cream on the side (had about 1/2 a teaspoon); then ruined it with 2 small glasses of red wine. Not sure how many syns in total but well over my allowance :(

    Thurs:
B - Bacon, mushrooms, tomato, fried egg, sausage (5syns+?)
L - Asda light couscous salad (5 syns); alpen light bar (HEB); pears; strawberries
Snack - 3 cubes of cheddar (HEA)
D - carrot & coriander soup (no cream, croutons or bread); roast turkey, potatoes & veg; black coffee + 1 after dinner mint (2syns?)

    And finally today:
B - Melon; bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, fried egg (1.5 syns)
L - M&S Chilli chicken noodle salad (5 syns), raspberries
S - 2 Alpen light bars (HEB); pear; banana; ryvita (1.5 syns)

I'm pleased to be home and dried out - hope everyone's well, I'm off to read back and catch up with what's going on. x
