    Good morning....My name's PearShaped and I'm a calorieaholic ;)

Just thought I'd introduce myself after following this fab thread for the last couple of days "Hi!"

I dug out my old SW books from the bottom of the paper/post/rubbish draw this time last week after deciding enough's enough & am following EE. I find the food side of the diet really easy to follow (especially in this lovely weather).... my syns are saved up for a glass or 3 at the weekend.

I'm 5'6 and weigh just over 14st so need to lose 3-4st depending on where I feel comfortable...I mean I think I was at my happiest at around 11st,size14.
Moving counties, having a young family, husband working away and using wine, crisps, bread, cheese (I'm a proper savory kinda gal) & the tv to comfort myself has led to me gaining the weight but after 2yrs of half hearted attempts to shift it, I suddenly woke up 'in the zone' a week ago & a quick surf of the old tinternet landing me here.

So, 'Hi' again....nice to meet you all :)

    Morning all!

Well after a week of being really good i lost .5lb - which wasn't the best result.... but at least it's a loss.

I too was made to fel that .5lb wasn't good enough - but I've had 2/3 weeks of feeling really ropey - I'm just glad tpo be feeling a bit better!

    Today is EE as always:-

snack whilst walking - pear, apple, plum

breakfast - porridge (B), milk (A), mixed berries, banana

lunch - butternut squash soup, salad, ryvita ( will check syns later)

tea - S/W spaghetti bolognese + big salad.

Hello and welcome to all the losers - and well done to all those with good losses this week!

    :heart2:Thanks for the warm welcome:heart2:

Have just had mullerlight & after yesterdays breakfast of poached eggs, grilled bacon and mushrooms kept me going until late afternoon, I think I shall have it again this morning after my walk.
haven't decided what to do for tea yet. Will look through this thread for some inspiration!
Is there a limit on the amount of eggs we are allowed to have?

We're having a Jubilee street party on Sunday,so my aim this week is to be under the 14st mark before then & avoid the crisp, cocktail sausages & peanut bowls whilst indulging in some Martini extra drys with diet lemonades. We shall see! I am going to make my own sw burgers for the bbq though.
    Any other ideas? x

    Welcome all newbies

Rain here this morning which is a bit of booger as I had hoped to get the BBQ out again tonight. BBQing seems to fit in easily with EE so over the last few days we haave had the barbie fired up a few times.

I make wee tatties & a couple of different salads then BBQ chicken, bacon, gammon, minute steak or whatever there is really. The T's Lime, chilli & coriander chicken escalopes are divine and 0 syns too

  • Cycling Yorkie, your a dab hand at this now. You know how to sing lalala through the "why was it onlys"
I wonder if there is a mass reset on the SW scales :D. As I have noticed a similarity nationwide thanks to this thread. Some weeks we all lose loads, others nothing changes.
PearShaped. Stay focused. I'm a wine, cheese, crispy mum of 2 young-uns too. If I can do it anyone can. (Though I would recomend avoiding my stressy ways)
vicki, Don't know how you can stand them, vile things make such a mess!
Flat Eric I stuck a photo beside my wardrobe & makeup mirror and bathroom cabinet. So I couldn't hide from the reality of how annoyed I was when I saw myself in the camera view. Only then did I join SW. It's still a shock seeing how big I was in the pictures compared to now.

I reccomend the Ribena Really Light for taking to work, or the no added sugar version if you can't find it. It's great in summer with ice, and winter with warm water! Jens28

You are going great guns kjmtidea.

Littlest has a chest infection. "lucky you came in.. she is really bad" Perhaps if the man had listened to her chest when I was there friday I might have retained my sanity over the weekend!
Still operating on store cupboard batches and muck ups as we are out of practically everything but weetabix and yoghurt!

    I think I need help!!

I know sw works, I've lost over 2 stone for goodness sake. But I just can't get into it. :(

Was thinking the warmer weather would pave the way for healthier eating of salads and more fruit but it hasn't.

Last night I gorged like a monster, I had 2 lots of melted cheese, 2 bags of crisps, half a bag of popcorn and a chocolate muffin. This was after a healthy tea of homemade pizza and loads of salad - what is wrong with me.

I've shared this all with you so I can be ashamed when I read back.

I've started off today with a positive mind set, went for a 30 min walk and have my meals all planned out for the day. It's just come evening time I turn into this food craved psycho and would probably try eating the furniture if it happened that the fridge was empty :(

Can anyone advise? As you can probably tell I am desperate.

Definitely echo what others have said about emotional eating- it seems an awful lot of us do it. I think it is one of those things you have to figure out in your own head and tease apart the reasons but in the meantime on the practical side I try and take myself away from the kitchen- not necessarily as a distraction but more of a 'I know I don't really want that, I'll go upstairs for 20 minutes and then think about it again' - just gives your head a bit of space to sort itself out and you might find you don't want to binge after all. I also always keep the bulk of my syns til later on in the evening - come 8 or 9pm there will be a Freddo/KitKat/Rocky making an appearance in the Blodwen household. I find it is nice to have something to look forward to and stops the panic of 'oh no, I have no syns left, what if I want to have xyz later'. I hope things improve for you (oh and your ex needs a good slap!)

What is everyone taking for lunch on these hot days ?? and any suggestions for meal ideas when its get home from work, its too hot to cook or faff (etc)

Have to admit, I've been taking pretty much the same as any other day! We always sit outside and fry over lunchtime but it doesn't stop me eating hot food. I realise that doesn't help you though! Salad can get a bit dull but with plenty to bulk them out they can be more interesting and filling- had tuna nicoise the other day with tuna (obviously!), new potatoes, hard boiled eggs and olives in it. Another possibility is a normal pasta/rice dish just served cold (pasta or rice salad) or quiche/frittata.

Yes, thats a fantastic loss. Its taken me 6 weeks to lose 11b.

You're doing really well Arty- slow and steady wins the race (although your loss is not slow - an average of almost 2lb a week is great!):)

Really enjoyed my walk home yesterday - seemed to take forever although in reality was only 1hr 20 - took a different and slightly longer route to in the morning. Legs felt a bit tired around the halfway point but feel fine today. May have to postpone tomorrow's walk as have to bring some stuff into work, but will be walking in on Fri as OH is back in the daytime then we're staying out to see the Olympic flame and festivities in the evening, so I then get the option of having a drink if I fancy it :)

    EE today:
B: Porridge (HEB), milk for drinks (HEA), strawberries, raspberries
L: L/O pasta with roast veg (syns counted last night)
T: Probably a jacket potato with butter (2), bacon and salad
    S: Mullerlight, Options (2), KitKat (5.5)
